Bought a bass from them online about 4 months ago. All was good with communications including sorting out a farcical courier service by UPS. I would buy from them again.

Did music lessons at school help with your musical life?
JazzyJ replied to Nail Soup's topic in General Discussion
My music tutor really encouraged me from the age of 12yrs old. Even though I left school to pursue a career in the motor trade, I chose music over metalwork and attained a 'O' level C grade. There were only 5 students out of a 120 intake and I sang/played 'House of The Rising Sun' on guitar for the practical exam. I had taken up bass at 14yrs old for the yearly musical productions. Happy days 😃. -
Having gone lightweight, the Trace rig has taken root so it's that or Waza Air and rotate basses. Noise isn't an issue in the sticks of North Yorkshire.

I changed to EB Slinkys which don't feel as harsh the OE strings. I do have flats on a lot of my basses though. A strip of pickup foam tidies up the nasty sharp cut ends as well. Oh, the pickups are fine for my purposes.

It's got to the stage now that I can no longer voluntarily bend both Interphalangeal Joints (IP). If I do happen to snap them back then the air is turned blue due to the pain. Got a Dr's appointment in a week regarding injections/ other treatments but have to be careful what I take pill wise due to liver issues. Oh the joy of it all.

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
JazzyJ replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Well, we are back to a four piece after Thursdays rehearsal. Keys player spat his dummy out over band name suggestions. His offering was 'Bacteria' because our '80s covers are infectious and can be nasty. Err, so is syphilis. Second keys player to walk in six weeks, the four of us are in our 60's and get on great. Vocalist is stepping up to the mark on keys so we will be fine. -
You know it makes sense 👍

According to some fb posts neither have the strings from issue 1.

I did the same once and was threatening with the 'I know where you live and I'm coming to get you' thing. Never again.

I fitted a DC socket to very portable board, powered by a Mooer 2A supply. Overkill but was cheap enough.

These three pretty much cover all my basses.

Been to some places that are as rough as, but all is good. Unfortunately one turned into a scene from a wild west saloon brawl, a Scarborough sea front pub. Needless to say we didn't return. No excuse for assault on band members though.

40 mins each way for rehearsal with the new band. Previously it was all on my doorstep as such. I don't mind the drive, it's the one day of the week the RS gets to stretch its legs.

Good progress this morning. Got a message yesterday that the keys player had called it a day but a replacement had been located. Excellent ability and a great guy who just fits in. Result 👏. I took along the SR2600 today which sounded immense. Had a SR500 14yrs ago, had forgotten how good Ibbys feel. So, we can start moving forward again and hopefully soon be able to put out some '80s vibes in North Yorkshire. Happy days 😃 -
Standard fb response to a complaint that they can't be bothered to act upon.🙄

The saying 'built in obsolescence' comes to mind.

Re Kwik Fit. It was 25yrs ago when I worked for them briefly. Vehicle servicing wasn't on the menu then, the 'technicians' earned bonus targeting the higher profit margin work. £1 per tracking, £2 per shock absorber etc, you get the idea. Problem was the decent guys left because they took pride in their work and mot testers, of which I were one, were pressured into failing things unnecessarily. Oh and our depot manager smoking weed alongside the young lads and the regional manager was ex DFS salesman. I departed to pastures new and never looked back.

I found myself in the unfortunate situation of working for Kwik-Fit for a few months after they bought out a decent fast fit that I had been with for 13yrs. What we were told to do by management to rip folk off was shocking. I didn't hang around long. AVOID at all times.

Took a chunk out of a 4003 headstock five minutes after delivery. Best to get stuff like that out of the way sharpish 👍 -
Possible arthritis in my fingers - any help or experience?
JazzyJ replied to jonnybass's topic in General Discussion
Immersion in hot water helps with both my thumb ip joints to the point I can begin to bend them slightly without excruciating pain. The pills and potions haven't worked for me. Thankfully this condition hasn't affected my fingers, yet. Sorry can't be of any further help. -

Had similar issue with a TI B string and a Fender Jazz Ultra. Coaxed it through with a little soap on the silk.
