My first was something called a 'Zenta'. An EB-0 copy which was essentially a lump of plyboard with some strings nailed to it, 25 quid 1975. It was dreadful but I didn't know any better back then. Replacement was a Aria Les Paul long scale, far superior. The Zenta suffered the axe treatment.

This 'box' has proved useful. A bit of a re-jig will house another three of the five I have hanging about.

Well I haven't been on Basschat five minutes compared to a lot of you. From day one I've felt welcome unlike one of the Ford RS forums I'm on. How I've missed this one for so long I just don't know. Pretty sure I'll be around for a while. Cheers everyone 👍

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
JazzyJ replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Good rehearsal yesterday. The keys player has jumped ship but a possible replacement attending on Thursday. I'm progressing well with the set list and the guys are appreciative of my ability, so all is well 😀 -
Happened to me once, hanging around to get a go for a couple of tunes. The house bassist jumped back in and that was that. Haven't bothered since, seemed to be too many egos going on with that lot anyway.

Now then, where did I put the hacksaw 🤔

Evri driver knocked on my door 3 times within a fortnight trying to deliver the same parcel. The postcode on it related to a property 30 miles away. Couldn't make it up. 🙄

Ordered a preamp from them 7th Jan, arrived 9th delivered by Parcel Force. Never used Bax before, good price and no issues.

1st rehearsal with the new band today Was a little apprehensive but I've nothing to worry about. Great set of lads my age group (58-62) and I feel positive moving forward. I was spared "Rio" this time though. 😄 Fully equipped studio too which is a bonus. -
Post your pictures, Lets see what you all look like.

About 5yrs ago. Not much has changed apart from the Ibanez. -
One of the band members is on keys/ synth so will work round things with him. Rehearse every Thursday 10am till 2pm, that suits me fine 🙂

Something to be going on with.

I've only gone and got the position. Great set of blokes, 58-62yrs old and I'm the oldest. Best get those Duran Duran albums out. Thanks for your kind comments folks.🙂

Well, 2023 was pretty much a write off what with the band of 6yrs folding and illness on my part. So back to decent health and missing the gigs, I advertised my services on Bandmix and have a meeting / audition with an 80's cover band tomorrow. Looking forward to it. 👌

I think I would class those as 'sundries' 🤔 Otherwise nothing would get done.

I've spent a lot of money with them over the years with no issues whatsoever and tried a bass or two before parting with my cash. Living out in the sticks it's my go to store being 30 miles away.

I use this adjustable/ foldable stand to give my c115t some height. A custom case as you suggest for your cabs will do the job though.

Anyone else got a particularly long finger nail?
JazzyJ replied to Big J's topic in General Discussion
Always keep nail clippers in the case. Never need to cut them right down though. -
WD40. The '40' was the amount of attempts it took to perfect the lubricant. Another bit of useless information 🙄

A motorcycle accident, 45yrs in the motor trade, 5yrs retained firefighter and 2 prolonged sciatica episodes have led to being very careful these days. Currently, lower back and knee issues. Gentle exercise/ walking is my way forward oh and downsizing the Trace and Hartke stuff.

Arthritis in both thumb I.P joints, cannot bend them without extreme pain but doesn't affect my playing too much. Worked with a guy some years ago with Dupytrens in both hands and feet, had the ops but the condition returned, can't work now.
