1. Bump for the one & only price drop - now £200 (If it doesn't sell at this I'll find some way of keeping it!!)
 2. NOW SOLD!! We're in the process of relocating & as our new home is a lot smaller I won't have the room to keep all of my bass collection (the collection has got out of hand anyway!) so I'm selling off most of my basses. This one has been a tough decision. I bought this new on a whim in June of this year as I've always loved Jazz basses but as I really only play short scale basses now I'm reluctantly going to let this go. I paid over £300 for it & the cheapest I could find it new is £308. It is in as new condition, I can't see any marks on it anywhere but I've only played it a couple of times at rehearsals. As you would expect it plays really nicely & sounds like a Jazz should. It does not come with a case or gig bag as I don't have any spares left. These are the specs & I've included a link to some pics below (taken with my smartphone so they're not the best!):

Color: Olympic White
Body Material: Soft Maple
Body Finish: Polyurethane
Body Shape: Jazz Bass
Neck Material: Maple
Neck Finish: Vintage Tint Gloss
Neck Shape: "C" Shape
Scale Length: 34" (864 mm)
Fingerboard: Maple
Fingerboard Radius: 9.5" (241 mm)
Number of Frets: 20
Fret Size: Medium Jumbo
String Nut: Synthetic Bone
Nut Width: 1.5" (38.1 mm)
Position Inlays: Block
Bridge Pickup: Fender-Designed Single-Coil Jazz Bass
Middle Pickup: Fender-Designed Single-Coil Jazz Bass
Controls: Volume 1. (Middle Pickup), Volume 2. (Bridge Pickup), Master Tone
Pickup Configuration: SS
Bridge: 4-Saddle Standard
Hardware Finish: Chrome
Tuning Machines: Standard Open-Gear
Pickguard: 3-Ply Black
Strings: Fender USA Super Bass 7250ML, NPS, (.045-.100 Gauges)
I no longer post basses out after having problems previously with a couple of basses being damaged by couriers so I'm afraid it is collection only. However this can be collected from my workplace in Leicester (I can be available most evenings except weekends but unfortunately you won't be able to play it through an amp there - If you want to try it out I can bring my Pandora & headphones & you can play it through that) or can be collected from my house near Norwich during weekends where you can try it out through my amp (I would need a few days notice though so I can retrieve it and the amp from where they're stored). 3. Wow - I thought I'd mistakenly logged onto TalkBass. Hope this forum isn't heading that way.
Is this Basschat or have I stumbled into some place full of people looking at throwing insults at each other
4. I sold Bryan my Semi-Acoustic bass. He's a great guy to deal with! It was a pleasure to meet you Bryan & I hope you enjoy the bass. Cheers Steve
 5. Quick bump with a price drop.
 6. Yes Dazza - 30.5" (775mm)
Is this a short scale?
7. Hi, I am going to be selling a lot of my collection of basses as we are having my music room (AKA The garage) converted into another living room so space to keep my gear will be limited & some of them have already had to be stored at my parents house. I have this lovely Harley Benton HB-60 Semi-Acoustic bass for sale which I bought around 18 months ago. These are surprisingly good quality basses & I was really surprised by how nicely it plays & it does the vintage sound really well. I think it would sound fantastic with a set of flatwounds on it - I just never got round to doing it. It's a really nice looking bass too. I've only used it for a couple of rehearsals with my band as I now have an EB3 that I use so it is as new (they're £213 new from Thomann) & I can't see any marks on it anywhere. These are the specs taken from the Thomann web site:

Vintage Series
Build type: Hollow body
Body: Maple with arched top
Neck: Canadian maple, set-in
Neck profile: C
Fretboard: Rosewood
Thumb fretboard inlays
22 Frets
Scale: 775 mm
Nut width: 43 mm
Cream-coloured body and neck bindings
Double action truss rod
Pickups: 2 vintage humbuckers
1 Tone knob
2 Volume knobs
3-Way toggle switch
Hardware: Chrome
Wooden bridge
Trapeze tailpiece
Comes with strings: 050 - 105
Colour: Walnut brown
Finish: High gloss
It does not come with a case or gig bag & I no longer post basses out after previously having problems with a couple of my basses being damaged by couriers so I'm afraid it is collection only. However this can be collected from my workplace in Leicester (I can be available weekday evenings but unfortunately you won't be able to play it through an amp there - If you want to try it out I can bring my Pandora & headphones & you can play it through that) or it can be collected from my house near Norwich during the weekend where you can try it out through my amp (I would need a few days notice though so I can retrieve it and the amp from where they're stored). I've added some pics taken with my smartphone so I'm afraid they're not the best! Thanks for looking Tazza
 8. Now sold - Thanks Lloyd Hi, I am going to be selling a lot of my collection of basses as we are having my music room (AKA The garage) converted into another living room so space to keep my gear will be limited & some of them have already had to be stored at my parents house. I have this nice violin bass for sale. I bought this on eBay around three years ago from a seller claiming that it was an Antoria. It has an Antoria decal on the headstock but I'm 99% certain that it isn't (I don't know why anyone would want to fake an Antoria though?). I've certainly never seen any pictures of Antoria violin basses that look the same as this. Anyway I tried the bass & liked it so bought it anyway. Having said that it does play really nicely & does the violin bass sound very well. It's in very good condition with a nice vintage vibe but has been gigged so expect a few marks commensurate with this although there's nothing that is that noticeable. The nut width is 42mm & scale length 30.5 inches.
 9. Tom has just bought my ESP LTD 5 string. He collected it from my house & it's been a pleasure to meet him. Thank you Tom for a nice easy transaction, hope you get on with the bass OK. Steve
 10. BUMP for Pics added & price drop
 11. Cameron's a great guy to deal with. I bought his Gretsch Junior Jet & he even despatched it in one of his cases to ensure it arrived safely! It's in perfect condition just as he described it. Thanks very much Cameron it's been a pleasure to deal with you. Cheers Steve
 12. Got my two yesterday in the same package - that means I can put one on each bass & not have to remove & re-attach when I swop basses. One thing I have found with the one I've tried so far though is that it's very slightly out to my Korg floor tuner. Oh well I'll blame the guitarists for being out of tune.
 13. Price drop to £130 to move this on & I've added some pics taken from a smartphone so they're not the best. The blue is in reality a deeper blue than the pics show - it really is a nice looking & playing bass. Hi, I have an ESP LTD B-55FM five string active bass for sale. I bought this new from Andertons for £254 for a band reunion that unfortunately (for me anyway) didn't happen. I purposely bought this model after searching for a decent 5 string bass with a thin neck as I only play four string basses these days but most of our old songs required a 5 string. The nut width is 43mm - if you like cricket bat necks this bass probably isn't for you. It has a beautiful blueburst finish (ESP call it see-thru blue) with a flamed maple top - I think this colour is now discontinued. Specs are as follows:

Bolt-On Construction
34" Scale
Basswood Body
Flamed Maple Top
Maple Neck
Rosewood Fingerboard
43mm Standard Nut
Thin U Neck Contour
24 XJ Frets
Chrome Hardware
ESP Tuners
ESP DB-5 Bridge
ESP LDJ (B) / LDP (N) p.u.
ESP ATB-1 Active Tone Boost
Controls: Neck Volume, Bridge Volume, Balance
I only used this for two rehearsals with the band before deciding not to continue with them so it's had very little use. It does not come with a case or gig bag as I don't have any spares left. 14. I've just bought a speaker cab from Rich. He's a pleasure to deal with & saved me a long journey by going out of his way to meet up with me after work. A thoroughly nice guy!! Cheers Rich Steve
 15. And for me - thanks Kev!
 16. I ordered on Saturday & had my confirmation this morning. Checked just after I ordered mine & they were out of stock but there are fretted ones available again at the moment - be quick!!
http://www.thomann.d...ulel_deko_2.htm Deco Uke's, fretless and fretted £36 plus p&p
17. Reach Out I'll Be There - The Four Tops Crazy Baby - Joan Osborne Reach Out was one of a set of songs I put on a tape & sent to someone. It led to a tumultuous period in my life. Crazy Baby I discovered when I was at my lowest after everything then fell apart. I can't listen to either song now. I agree with Johnny Cash's version of Hurt too.
 18. Mr & Mrs Grangur have just picked up a couple of basses from me. They're really nice people & it was a pleasure to spend time with them. Thank you Rich for a nice easy pleasant transaction - hope you enjoy the basses! Cheers Steve
 19.
I have reluctantly accepted requests from other band members to include this song in the set list, even though I think it stinks. I can work our whether the bass line is good, bad or indifferent. It appears to me to be very simple root structures and what appears to be random passing notes. Or have I misunderstood? Because I dislike it so much I haven't learnt it properly - that would involve listening to it - but no one seemed to notice I was freestyling the passing notes.
It could be a whole lot worse - it could be "Moondance" or "Alright Now". Now I love Free & I don't really mind "Alright Now" - it's certainly not one of their best & I think they did some far better songs but it's OK. Trouble is It's just become so cliched now. As for "Moondance" the less said the better!
 20.
Just checked my old PMs - this is my old bass. I sold it to you back in January 2014! Buyers - this is a bloody good P-bass for the money, so someone snap it up quick before I buy it back...
Thanks Russ - yes it is a great bass & it looks as though it's now sold. I must admit I'm reluctantly selling it but I'm not playing anymore & I can't forsee me playing any time soon.
 21.
Cheap as the proverbial bag of chips! GLWTS.
Thanks mate!
