Well Warren Road is very much a road of two halves. the posh half and the benefit hotel half. (I, being awkward lived approx in the middle) I must say I found it quite 'cosmopolitan' and easy to make friends there. Mostly enjoyed it and would still be there if it were not for the landlord getting all of a sudden money mad.
That's a shame Daz. If I could afford to I would move there

Hi Paul, Welcome to BC. I'm not so keen on the newer heavy bands but love Deep Purple, Black Sabbath etc. & was in a lot of hard/heavy rock bands in my youth - I play in a blues band now though. I haven't been to Torquay for a few years but used to visit two or three weekends & summer holidays each year (used to stay in Warren Road - why is it infamous?). I love the place - used to go to see the bands on Friday nights in the Cider Press - is that still open? Anyway enjoy BC, there are some really helpful people on here.
I think intonation would be the least of your worries if you bought that
I'm wondering why he's fitted a washer to the G string saddle adjuster behind the bridge? - & that second hand E string (a long scale string)* looks just about ready to break. He'll have someone's eye out with that. *his parentheses - are the other three shortscale then? -
Still, he has become a legend to many of us on this thread and we eagerly await his next offering! & here it is..... "This was utterly unplayable when I got it recently, though I could see it was going to be a superb guitar if I could devote the time to it." - & it probably still is looking at that re-cut nut. "This one was like the many now that are kept in the loft as a memory of someones band back in the 1970s." - & that's where it should have stayed. Look at that scratchplate too WTF
Aye, good old Shippers, up to his art again. You never know, he might have the last laugh and we'll be discussing his authentic knobs 50 years from now.
There's only one saving grace about this & that is that he's not destroying genuine Fenders to do it. Maybe in years to come Squiers will be worth more than Fenders because he will have single handedly wiped most of them out.

Just received an Epiphone Explorer bass from Karl. He is an absolute pleasure to deal with. His description of the bass was extremely accurate & he made a point of messaging me to to make sure that I was aware of the ding on the edge that it has. If anything he overstressed the damage as it isn't that bad really but that just shows the kind of person he is - he'd rather not sell than have someone buy something they would not be happy with. The bass was extremely well packed both inside the box & inside the gig bag. Thanks Karl for helping me obtain a bass I've always wanted at a very good price.
Mel managed to palm a load of unwanted stuff off onto me, for money. And pretty damned efficient about it she was, too, sneakily covering everything in bubble wrap and making sure it was delivered promptly. Oh yes. Just watch out, that's my advice.
Yes she did to me too!! Seriously though you just have to read through some of the comments on this thread to know you are going to get a nice easy trading experience with Mel. Cheers Mel!

Flame maple bass project! Reduced to £95 Shipped!
tazza1 replied to Shockwave's topic in Basses For Sale
Hi, I think your bass is one of the Tropical era DB94's, they were built in Korea after Dean sold the company - I have a red one like this & a black DB95 5 string. I love my two, the necks are fantastic & you can get a great range of sounds from them. There is one on eBay at the moment for £459 because the seller is under the mistaken impression that it's a custom shop build! It has the same flamed top as yours but in red. Great basses! -
