  1. Paying to work, goes against every atom in my body, paying to work for that creep, even more so
  2. I have bought a bass from a seller on here (and I am very paranoid about scams), he had lots of great feedback and a lot of successful transactions. I did a bank transfer without any fear of being ripped off and everything went smoothly. It came packed better than most on-line stores !
  3. This sounds mad, but it works. Get a smoothish carpet tile (or small strip of carpet) and swipe the plastic hard and fast across it in single swipes, it takes the sharp edges off and removes hardly any material and doesn't turn matt. You can repeat as many times as you need. When I was young and poor I used to do this to old guitar picks to get a bit more life out of them.
  4. I actually check now before I order anything, which courier a supplier uses. If it's Evri, I look elsewhere. A few years back, I ordered a P bass and an Ashdown 4x10 cabinet from Guitar Guitar. A DPD driver who was a young lady, knocked with the bass and asked me that as my order was musical equipment, would I prefer to help her with the cab rather than her man-handling it onto her trolley (those cabs weigh a ton !!). I was more than happy and really pleased that the driver actually cared about what she was delivering.
  5. I have the long shaft Gotoh resolites (GB640s) on my Thunderbird, superb quality and look insane. I like the torque adjustment as well , nice touch
  6. Here is my Epi TB VP with long stemmed lightweight Gotoh tuners & my 60s parts-caster with the biggest ears I could find
  7. I love my Epi Thunderbird VP with the lightweight Gotoh tuners with the longer stems, it takes that insane headstock to a different level
  8. I have Allianz home-only music insurance for approx 30ks worth of equipment & the premium is tiny. Very easy to add or remove items and a nice itemised statement comes every 3 months. They have great reviews
  9. I am really into heavy 80's dub like Scientist . The basslines are simple but crushing, fun to play and very voodooey
  10. Hello, I have a VP Thunderbird in tobacco burst which I got off a member on here and it's excellent, and I agree, the TOM bridge and stop bar is great and looks good, no problem with that at all, it sounds great even un-plugged. I also have a completely stripped white VP that I bought from a friend about 2 years ago that had it lying around his workshop. This was literally the body/neck, no wiring, pick-ups, bridge, machines etc. My intention was to re-build it and I thought I may as well try something different especially as the original bridges are quite hard to come by.
  11. Hers a picture from the Hipshot website.......is that clear ?
  12. A bit confused by Neephieds reply TBH, says it's not meant to fit any Epiphone and then posts a picture of an Epi Embassy with the 2 point bridge ?
  13. Where to start ? 1. It didn't fit, the mounting holes are 1-2mm too narrow and have to be filed to get it installed. Not good for a £100+ bridge that's touted as a "drop in" 2.They have recessed the mounting holes in the bottom of the bridge which means the studs get pulled up if you tighten too much.....or even little. 3. Because the mounting holes are way forward of the ball ends, the whole back of the bridge lifts under string tension.....and pulls up the studs. In desperation, I bought an extremely expensive Hipshot Stop bar from a d-style bridge and intended to use that to cover all of the mounting issues. When I mocked it up, I realised that the whole thing was just too butt ugly and not worth the bother. I have reverted back to the original VP TOM bridge. I contacted Hipshot on several occasions and got no reply. If anyone wants this POS and the stop bar, please get in touch.
  14. For me, Japan were one of the only few saving graces of the 80's music scene, massively underrated and superb musicians, especially Mick's fretless work. When I was 16 I used to schlep around with my Dave Sylvian "gentlemen take polaroids" era hairdo, happy days.
  15. I was killing a few minutes on you tube a few days ago and this video of Efi B playing Nightbirds by Shakatak came up, I was mesmerised .................by her technique, I mean..........................................really
  16. That's 3k in strings alone and that's a very conservative estimate with a bulk discount
  17. I just bought an Epiphone Tbird vintage pro from John. The bass is in great condition, it was very well packaged, very fast delivery and easy payment. I Definitely recommend 🙂
  18. I think the UK entry forgot that EV is supposed to be a fun, camp family show and not an advert for Grindr . I can imagine kids asking "why is that strange man putting his microphone in that other mans mouth mummy ?" I'm surprised it went through without anyone questioning it before thb
  19. Hello I think I'll have to pull the trigger on this, I've PMd you
