Question: Filling pocket screw holes on maple neck
JJMotown replied to Grooverjr's topic in Repairs and Technical
Screws come in different widths, you may have slimmer ones, check dimensions and get next size up or some slightly wider. -
Japanese dimensions and fit are different to standard. The curve you're talking about you'll have to judge by eye, some are rounded, others more angular.
-
Should try a different set if strings to rule out its not a dodgy string. Most dimarzio pups have adjustable poles, and sound great.

Couriers (yet again)... a new one on me - handling charges.

@warwickhunt your parcel didn't go to Suffork did it? -

Had the same thing with ParcelForce earlier this month, claiming the parcel was larger than it actually was, saying I incurred a £45 additional charge. Unfortunately for them the delivery driver took a photo of the delivery, which showed their claims were incorrect. Took almost 3 weeks to sort, saying the error was with the courier. Yes, themselves! -
I'd take the spec on these websites with a large pinch of salt. They are usually incorrect, especially at this price range.

JJMotown replied to betown's topic in Bass Guitars
Looks like the pickguard is spray painted gold, not gold anodized. -
The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

Nice to see the fiesta red looks to be an aged fiesta red, more subtle red. Brass saddles and a set of flats. Make a very cool little bass. -

HB shorty is 42mm. -
You know the pickups are seymour duncan quarter pounds right? Not a vintage sounding pup, but very punchy, and modern p tone.

A Hagstrom tale of sucess and woe...
JJMotown replied to Bigguy2017's topic in Repairs and Technical
Ghs flats are very high tension, I wouldn't had put them on a semi hollow. Same with an acoustic. -
What is the difference in sound between the two birds?

Matte clear coat?

Nope, plus the gzrs have there own electrics.
-
Unfortunately, yes.

Very true. There's a guy selling an Epiphone Explorer Bass for £550 in the Marketplace, when he brought two Epiphones (Explorer and Thunderbird) for £75. Crazy!

That would be VM, this is CV.

You didn't look very hard. -
New Fender Laura Lee (Khruangbin) signature Jazz
JJMotown replied to HeadlessBassist's topic in Bass Guitars
I like the irony here, as she plays a SX copy of a Fender. Though no Chrome's or dimarzio pups, hipshot tuners, so other than the colour isn't an artist bass at all. -
Great p pups. Right up there with cs 62 and 63 imo.
