  1. This guitar has all frets levelled and polished to create the best action, lowest string height this guitar will provide, it's certainly friendly to play. It's the ideal guitar for the young budding guitarist, who knows, the next Eric Clapton ?
  2. After the discussion I had to check the weight of this amp.... The head itself weighs 33lb, which is noticeably lighter than many of the heads that do the rounds on this forum. It's actually on the lighter side for an amp that delivers the valve sound that P bass players (like me) search for. Thinking about it, that's probably lighter than my old dual channel Aguilar AG500 head and the Aguilar DB 12 cabs. I was after the valve sound without the weight and bought this as an alternative, certainly didn't disappoint. Having searched through several well known class D heads I found they just didn't have that 'heft' (here we go again...), but this amp delivers, it's also probably more reliable than an amp full of umpteen valves and hand wiring in the long run too So the case weighs just under 10lb, which in total makes the case and amp 43lb, not a great deal considering the sound it delivers.
  3. Hi all Here we have two Beta 87c wired microphones for sale. I purchased them unused from a sound engineer, now it's time to move them on. They're as new condition, in original boxes Best price I can find online at the moment is £289.00 of course add postage to that. These are new unused, I'm looking for £135.00 each, £260.00 the pair Thanks all
  4. It's as good as new, surely someone looking to learn bass would want this ?
  5. Here's the conclusion from the review by Bass magazine verbatim "The Caiman T4 has two distinct sides to it's character. The first is that of an instrument built by an artisan luthier. This is obvious when you look at details like the perfectly oiled finish, the exquisitely made ebony pickup covers and the tiny walnut plate that covers the truss rod end. The other aspect of this bass is it's functionality. It's obviously been planned and engineered by someone with fastidious attention to detail, and with a vision from the outset about how they want this bass to function and sound when completed. Perhaps the slightly unorthodox shape (ergonomic as it is) may put a few conservative bass players off, but it shouldn't. It's refreshing to play a bass where form so gracefully follows function - and anyway, for many bass players a unique shape is a definite plus With this level of craftsmanship and near obsessive attention to detail, the Caiman T4 is by any measure a real bargain, and at this price it's hard to find anything to criticise. It would have been a nice touch to have the back battery and control cavity plates made from the same coloured mahogany as the body - but that's really the best I can come up with" I'm talking myself into keeping this bass, it's quality really is first class, if other things sell this will be coming off the market
  6. Come on, some shop dealer buy this, stick it in the window and make a profit..
  7. I'd have this in a heartbeat if I were in the buying frame of mind right now, glws
  8. Frankly amazed an instrument of this complexity of construction hasn't gone at this price, what do others think it's worth ?
  9. Dear all Here's my Ibanez GSR 180, used for only one gig. It's unmarked and as new, it could be hung in the shop window as new and no-one would know the difference, so it's a new bass at a cheaper price than anywhere else. In addition, it's been chosen as the best one from a selection of the same model, so win /win How come I'm selling a new bass ? oh dear... I usually make my own way to / from gigs and have my own well established routine which works faultlessly. However..... I had a break from playing for a while, then in March last year I did a few gigs for a band that has their own van. I met the guys in the van to go to the gig and set off, looking forward to playing again. Halfway to the venue I realised I'd left my own bass in the back of my car ! (DOH !) I dropped into Music World in Ipswich on the way to buy a bass to do the gig. There were several basses of this model there, after playing them all I chose this one as being the most resonant with the friendliest neck. It was the best bass in the shop in the price range, all in all it's a nice instrument. We set the bass up in the shop, I paid £199.00 and used it for that one gig, bought it home and put it in the corner. Now it's time to let it go, so grab a new bass at what may well be the cheapest price anywhere. Thomann are selling them for £170.00 + carriage (most others suppliers are more than this), so this one represents something like a £40 - £50 saving, essentially 25% off the price of a new bass. Thanks all
  10. Thanks Krispn, I weighed the amp in it's case which may have made the difference, you're right it's probably nearer to 14kg without the case. I spent ages going through lightweight class D heads looking for the depth and weight of sound I wanted, then came across this one, job done. Now I need to take a break from playing for a while, it makes no sense for me to keep this sitting around unused. Someone is going to enjoy this one, it really does deliver
  11. It's 41.6 pound, or 18.9kg, no doubt a heavy transformer in there to give it that full sound
  12. Just met Ziggy. I went to show him one of my favourite basses saying .. "have a look at this, it's really unusual you'll never find another one like it". His comment.... I used to own it ! both blown away to say the least. Great guy, we'll have a beer sometime I'm sure. Cheers bud, all the best Tom
  13. Really surprised this hasn't gone yet, it's silly money for an instrument like this. The saxophone is a fascinating instrument, there's a whole community out there that talk about mouthpieces etc the way we bassists talk about our gear. Another world of GAS !
  14. Agreed, I'd be keeping it if I wasn't having a break from playing for a while
