The Hercules stand has my attention at the moment. Any stands to avoid ?

I'm just a bit concerned there won't always be a handy corner. The other worry is the potential for someone to put their foot through a DB lying on it's side as they walk around watching the girls go by

Thinking about double bass stands and found this old'n. Saw the Hercules stand, which looks quite different from many of the others. Is there anyone out there that would like to share their experience of DB stands ? Recommend some ? avoid others ? Cheers

That song by Jay Leonhart hit the spot for me, as the lyrics go to the difficulties of trying to intonate a DB and sing at the same time. Being new to DB myself, I can really appreciate what he's talking about in saying 'playing notes that aren't really there' and 'not knowing where you are' on the fingerboard (not fretboard !).

Discovered this old'n while looking for info on sizing up DB's. Some interesting reading here. Are there any shops that stock a reasonable selection of double basses local to London ? Cheers all

To answer the OP opening question - NO ! If I pay the extra to have something new, I expect it to be faultless, be it a bass or whatever. Just my opinion though

I've heard stories of them continuing to work well after bouncing down the stairs and falling out the back of vans on the way home, It weighs around the same as a GS112.

You'll find a bit more oomph from an ABM 500 combo, the 300 can be a little underpowered in some situations.

Agree with the praise for these things. Then I suppose I would, considering I bought the one at the top of the page from OTPJ !

So what evidence have you observed or heard to suggest that a chiropractor will be able to solve the particular problems of the OP ? Can you explain and support your clinical reasoning that leads you to recommend a chiropractor's services ? Do you consider it reasonable to recommend the same treatment for all problems ?
