Ok folks, date is set for 10th April 2011, avoiding Mother's day just beforehand. This gives a bit of space for a breather after the Anglia bash, hopefully it won't be too hot or cold on the day either. Looking forward to this one

Look for stands that have the larger screws threads. I've noticed that the majority of the stands that have gone wrong over the years have mostly suffered from failure of screw joints with small threads, becoming unstable and flopping around.

There was a thread around here recently discussing something like 'is it worth replacing all the electrics on a classic vibe bass', or something very similar. I recall Pots were discussed there, along with the quality of different makes. Perhaps someone remembers that one. Sorry can't be more specific T

Once played a nightclub in Hatfield. Had just been re - built with glass walls all round (with strategic support pillars) and mirrors everywhere. It was a total reverb chamber. Any high frequencies pratically made your ears bleed and feedback was almost impossible to prevent. One of the most difficult gigs ever.
