1. sorry to hear you can't make it pirate. hope mr. k is worth it on the day. Bottle - bring the lot !! seriously, It'll be good to see you there, even if you only turn up with a small combo. Can everyone please add further posts to the main thread from now on. Ta. T
2. This could have been ideal for me. Chigwell is just around the corner and my band has gigged there before at a local sports and social club. Just our luck we are already booked on that night for a gig on the opposite side of the M25. ha ! T
3. That's it, all done. The results are: Creekside = 4 votes (22.22%) School in Friern Barnet = 14 (77.78%) Therefore, the London 2010 bass bash will be held on 27th June at the school in Friern Barnet suggested by Molan. At long last T
4. times up ! The results are: 6th = 6 votes 13th = 2 votes 20th = 5 votes 27th = 8 votes Therefore, the 27th wins it. No doubt those who voted for the others could get together and collectively decide on another date, but which date would you choose ? who would you agree with ? would you take another vote to find out ? Or maybe, everybody just might say bo***cks to the whole voting thing in general by now and just say yes to the 27th !!!!!! Let's just go for it T
5. Just picked up a bass from Rich. I'll confirm what everyone has said here, that Rich is one very tidy player, very able indeed. A nice easy deal all round and a good host too No worries here folks ! T
6. Why thank you Rich You have some nice basses there, including that Status collection. Meeting you has opened my eyes a bit to these basses and what they're about, something that was well overdue. They sound huge through that little giant and the Genz Benz neo cab. I finally got my hands on that AV62 Precision as well (and then had to let it go again, damn). I'm pretty sure the new owner will not be dissapointed. It's a real shame that's not going to be me !! Thanks for everything Rich, including the straightforward directions. Nice one. Hopefully we'll meet again at some point. In the meantime good luck with the shows mate T
7. I would be happy to model it for free at my house for an extended term Linus T
8. There's only one thing that could make that bass look any sexier. have it modelled by one of your avatars Linus T
9. This thread has shown one of the strengths of BC for me. It's such a blessing to be able to have the views of a blend of players all watching the same thing, as other folks really do see what I sometimes miss. Thanks to everyone that has commented, it's been an informative exercise T
10.
Interesting fred. I like my sound (as do the people I play with ) but I will try this on the gig I am doing tonight with my Neil Sedaka Tribute Band, 'Sweet Sixteen'. It will be interesting to see whether it helps or hinders!
Will you be adding 'That'll be the day' by Buddy Holly on the side Bilbo ?
11. from one essex, to another Hiya ! T
12. Just checked this to be sure. The Markbass Sa450 owners manual gives guidance on the characteristics and use of frequencies of the low, low - mid, upper mid etc Helped my understanding by more than a tad !! T
13.
No doubt he's a player and all that and I'm sure we can all noodle to a certain degree, but what does it sound like with some chordal accompaniment, that's when it will make sense and also where the musicality will shine.
Undeniably true, I believe T
14.
C'mon Tom - You know you want it!
That door is well and truly open already. Only God knows how much I want it. I would almost give my left bo**ock for it, but no-one's buying them lately Drat. Double drat. Aaaaah T
15. You would sell this now. It's almost too nice to pass up. But I'm commited elsewhere. Drat.
16. Borrowed from another thread on B.C. I really should practice more ...... Enjoy T
17. 27th is winning at the mo. But the 6th is close behind......
18.
Git
ain't that typical ? T
19.
well the cab was right next to me head. I like to have a massive jump from my clean to my distortion and with this amp if we had to play a show with no PA when i played distorted it was out of control and completely unmanageable ...
Forgive me for asking, but how did you have the gain and master set up ? Peavey recommend turning the master all the way up and then adjusting the gain to suit. Cranking up the pre - amp gain will distort the sound, but if the master is full up to begin with and you adjust the pre-amp gain from zero upwards, then the sound is very clean up to some astonishing volume levels at 4 ohms. Just my 2p T
20. can't believe you're floggin' this already !!!! The recent review was great and gave the impression of a good instrument. T
21. Uum, forgot to add I'll be closing this vote on Saturday 8th May Cheers T
22. Oops. forgot to add, I'll be closing the vote on Saturday 8th May. Cheers T
23. A spread of results so far. I'm not checking the footy fixtures, but I expect someone is !! T
