Cheers guys, just a full strip down sand then stain Then. Any particular products you'd recommend? Still not decided if its more trouble than its worth !

As in the title how much bother would it be to stain an ash bodied sr600? Ibanez used to do it in a walnut finish but I think it would look nice in black oil finish as well instead of tge flat natural. ibanez seem to offer nice ccolurs but only in certain models. Love the black ice finish of the 705 but am after a 4 string and dont like the amber of the 700

what strings do you use for your yamaha bb1024/5 and why?

whatever it left the factory wearing and it sounds great, as above pup selection, tone roll off and an amp tweak can give me all I need -
Yes, nice and light and slim necks. UK Range here: http://www.ibanez.co...r=2015&cat_id=2 Slight differences in Woods - pick of the bunch in terms of value for money for me is the SR500. Admittedly some of the higher spec ones are very pretty indeed. I've got an SR500 that you are welcome to try.
Nice one i might just take you up on that!

paperwork said it wasnt b stock but it has a gap i could drop a couple of plecs in although the neck joint felt solid enough. nut would need filing as fretting at the first was high and buzzed a bit if you dont hold down tightly. sound is good not as punchy as my 1024 but a bit of gain would sort that. very versatile, just different so i wont judge it too quickly. lovely and light. ill just see what they say. I have a white one which looks good but might be a bit too flashy for me! prob a black with the battery disconected would suit a wall flower like me!

been looking at the ibby sr series as im looking to go thin neck plus light weight. (they are light arent they?) The 500, 700 and 800 all have the same pups and pre's so is it just a case of woods and finishes that drives the prices up?

yammie rbx4a2 just got one from bv247 its really light and comfortable on the strap 7lbs top but... has a bit of a large gap in the neck pocket and the nut could do with a file so its likely on its way back. might see if they can source another or look at the ibby sr series-never played one but seem to have an army of fans. want the weight of sound my 1024 gives with a little less physical weight

cheers Guys, its me with the Caramel Brown 1024 up for sale. I've not bumped it because I'm a bit loath to let it go! Its the best passive P I've played. Only the fact that I smashed my Left hand in a cycling accident that's making me think medium or short scale might be the way to go. the x version is 'more traditional' in that it makes it look more fender like but the non x is true to the original BB series. I bought new and had my choice I just prefer the uncluttered look of the original bb the 1024has quite a few improvements over the 424 but that is still an impressive bass, hard to beat at its price point -

I cant seem to see the corvette rockbass medium scale in stock anywhere. is it still in production? also is it possible to get other warwicks in this scale length? is it possible to fit a bypass for the active circuit as in the german models, eq bypass can save a bit of embarrassment if a battery dies
Amazing instruments! I hope someone snaps this up quick, if it was a 5er I'd be all over it! My first Sandberg was a Basic 4, which made me fall in love with Sandbergs and ultimately sell everything else. I've had two Basic 4's, a California VM4, a Basic Ken Taylor 5, and now have a Basic Ken Taylor 5 and Classic Booster 5, both built to my spec. It's the necks that really do it for me, but they are just superb instruments in every respect. GLWTS!
I knew Oli couldnt resist commenting on a berg! the man speaks the truth though he knows his sandbergs and is a good source of info- these are top basses, very underrated and super comfy to play. only problem is residuals I ended up trading mine with the ever helpful Mark at Bass Direct.
Hi. Don't suppose you're up for a trade? I have a nice Godin Freeway 4 in midnight blue with matching gig bag. Very good condition. Passive Godin PJ pickups.
Sorry Will after a sale as I've got my eye on something here. £200 and I'll go halves on the courier fee, can't say fairer than that, can I?
