Well, I don't know if I'm the first to buy something as a result of something learned/discovered at the bash, but I've just snagged a Lekato WS-70 UHF wireless kit for £30 on eBay.

@GreeneKing it's mainly your fault (for giving me a go of your Lekato kit) but there are other culprits who were wandering around wirelessly.  Thank you, you gits! :D

My daughter asked me to say "Thanks for the generous donations to Craven Wildlife Rescue".

You kindly donated £51 and Thebe is very happy. The money will go on rescuing owls and hedgehogs. Owls apparently are quite expensive to feed 😊 Booths don't sell dead mice and other stuff like that. Peter Can you sort this out please?

Given all the owls that are utilised for letter and parcel delivery in the Harry Potter books, surely there will be at least one Dead Mice R Us shop in Diagon Alley?

Thanks to everyone who came today.

    Thoroughly enjoyed it

    That's me hame!

Thanks for organising today, Rob - it was absolutely splendid. We couldn't have asked for better company, a better setting or better weather. Onwards and upwards. 😉

I'll post my pics once I get them off the camera.

Here's a link to the village hall again.

    https://claphamyorkshire.co.uk/locals/clapham-village-hall/

    The address is

    CLAPHAM VILLAGE HALL,

    CROSS HAW LANE,

    CLAPHAM, LA2 8DZ

Please park sensibly at the village hall in the allocated spots. There is parking outside the village hall on the road. There are no parking restrictions on the road.

    I'll be there around 0900

Are we able to drive into Old Mason's Yard behind the village hall - is that where the main entrance is?

Last chance for letting me know about any dietry issues. Otherwise it'll be a selection of pizzas.

Also any interest in bacon butties or sausage sarnies on arrival?

I'm planning to be there around 10:00am, (SatNav already programmed), and a well-fired bacon butty would be greatly appreciated. I'm bringing home-made flapjack, (a Rachel Allen recipe).

Does anyone have any special dietary requirements please? Please note fillet steak, Chateaubriand, Montrachet and freshly caught scallops are not dietry requirements unless you bring a note from your doctor and your mum.

So if you are vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, nut free, diary free, gluten free or something else please let me know through a DM.

I am planning to put pizzas in the oven for lunch so will have a selection but it would be good to know if people can't eat somethings.

If there is enough demand, happy to do bacon or sausage (meat and/or vegetarian) for breakfast.

@neepheid can you let me know approx when you intend to come please? You are welcome at any time as I work from home.

I also still have a spare bedroom with a double bed if anybody needs somewhere to stay for either Fri or Sat.

    Thanks

    Rob

This is very thoughtful of you, Rob. No dietary issues from me ... as my old dad used to say, "Eats anything, fond of children."!

  7. I have a spare Comfort Strapp (Extra Long, 42"-54", adjusts both ends) lying about here. The holes have been opened out on order to accommodate Dunlop Strap Lock pins. It's free to a good home - I'll bring it with me on the 18th. 🙂

    @peterjam

You are most welcome. We haven't set a start time or an end time. We have the village hall for the whole day and from the previous evening (Fri) if we want it.

Mentally I have a 10:00 to circa 17:00 timescale for the day, but there's nothing to stop people turning up at 07:00 and leaving at 20:00. We will need to be a little sensitive with noise after around 18:00 though as I have no idea what the sound proofing is like in the hall, suspect it's minimal :)

I live 50m from the hall, and will have keys so if people want to arrive early, its no big deal. That's the village hall on the left from my office window ....

Clapham is not a bustling metropolis with five sushi cafes within walking distance, we have a pub, a community run village shop and a cafe and thats it. We do have 10m sheep and fabulous views of the dals though.

If people wanted to, we can arrange an evening of pizzas and playing, there are a few very good pizza joints a few miles away. Settle has options for more takeaways and is seven miles away.

    Thanks

    Rob

Thanks for this, Rob. I'll post a list of gear when I get five minutes. :)

  10. I've just spotted this - definitely interested. I'm based in Dumfries, (just over the border), so you're only about 100 miles away from me. I have a couple of ACGs, and ESP 8-string, a Michael Kelly acoustic and a Chapman Stick which I'd be more than happy to bring along. I've been to a few of the Moffat Bass Bashes, as organised by Alan Cringean and the splendid Dave Perry, and they're always a great day out.

I'll have a hunt through the thread, but what's the start/finish time for this event, please?

  11. Another great weekend in splendid company amongst a herd of top-flight bass guitars - and I'm not saying that cuz I picked up my birthday ACG! I think Alan and Dave have 'right sized' the whole event - there's just enough happening to ensure you don't miss out on anything. Roll on 2017!

  12. I'll definitely be there - well, I only live 20 miles down the road. The weekend before is the London Bass Guitar Show - and the weekend after, (26th), I celebrate a significant birthday. B)

  13. My current crop of basses relaxing on the sofa.

Left to right - ESP B-208FM 8-string, Vester Custom Shop 5-string, Ashbory Mk2 4-string, ACG J-Bass 4-string, ACG Finn fretless 4-string. Across the front - 10-string Chapman Stick (deep matched reciprocal tuning).

But what I REALLY need ...

  14. I posted a bunch of piccies on the Moffat Bass Bash FaceAche group.

Once again it was an excellent weekend - just the right mix of professional and personal - and I don't know how we're going to top having Steve play and chat. I'll be boring on at the local bass players to get along next year - it's amazing that people don't realise there's a world-class luthier on their doorstep.

  15. Does anyone have any experiences with the Pigtronix Infinity Looper pedal to share - good or bad? I'm thinking about using it with my Chapman Stick - looping bass parts then playing, (or looping), melody parts over the top.
