  1. Gorgeous!
  2. Yup - my 500 EVO has an ABM400 power amp board. It’s just a marketing thing methinks! Bloody good amps these are, and one of these in such good condition is a rare beast indeed. Well worth the money
  3. These things are the most amazing amp ever, if I was more manly I’d have kept mine but they are a proper beast! This is an insane price and therefore a veritable bargain
  4. There’s one on eBay at the moment and I have often been tempted but I agree, the RM module is preferable for me too...
  5. True. Maybe he’s hiding the fact that it’s actually an awesome idea and they’ll bring something out for 2019 NAMM 🤣
  6. It’s the size of the amp which makes it difficult apparently, squeezing it all into the small RM casing. Plus as Mark pointed out they have the ABM series with a valve front end (not quite what I am after but it’s there), and then the OriginAL pedal which you could hook up to a lightweight power amp if you so desire. They just feel their product range doesn’t need more in it at the moment which is fair enough. Wrong, but fair enough hahahaha 😜
  7. I’d love a Spyder 550. I tried persuading Mark Gooday to do that preamp with the RM800 power amp but it all got a bit too complicated to get the valves the right voltage and current supply apparently. But an RM-sized valve front-end with that power amp would be a thing of beauty I’m sure. 😎
  8. I just found it a bit average, it didn’t feel any better than my knackered cheap Vester Jazz. It could have just been the situation, and I’m certainly not ruling out trying more, but I just didn’t “get” it. Much prefer my ACGs! I will be getting a more traditional flavoured bass later this year but it’ll be a UK built custom beast instead and VERY competitively priced vs an equivalent Elwood L 😎
  9. My word. They do make good looking basses don’t they. Just a shame I didn’t get on with the one I played at the LBGS.
  10. Yup, I use a Super Compact for everything these days, having just sold the One10 due to lack of enough gigs 🤣
  11. Look at that! Stunning
  12. Oh my 😍 Sadly/thankfully I’m about 5 months away from having any money 😄
  13. Didn’t the mighty Trace V8 have a valve compressor circuit? What about the Laney Nexus valve head, does that have one?
  14. Played a Maruszczyk at the London Bass Show this year and didn’t get the fuss, though definitely not the worst bass I’ve ever played. That would be a Warwick FNA Jazzman which was a superb bass then, when I needed to borrow it for a gig, my friend changed the strings to these horrendous thin plinky things and the bass became unplayable. So really the strings rather than the bass but it’s haunted me haha
  15. It means the speaker output:
  16. Depends on your cab. I used it with a single Super Compact on a pub gig without PA support and it coped - just, no headroom left!
  17. Lovely example of Alan’s work, a superb price too!
  18. I concur. It’s a really good little amp but it ain’t my ABM on full tilt
  19. Very nice! I like the fact I can search by scale length, now all you need is some 32” basses hehehe
  20. Yup, for the money I’d rather find a nice second hand ACG or save a few hundred more for my own. I was massively underwhelmed with every bass I played at this year’s show, think I’m spoilt rotten with the ACGs in my life already!
  21. Cliff are round the corner from where I work, I could probably go round and pinch some from their stores haha
  22. Yup that’s where I spent many a teenage day annoying the guys playing bass! It turned into Eric Lindsey and is now a craft beer bar/store thing. Real shame.
  23. PM’d
