Straying slightly off topic your 12-er did indeed sound stupendous with your pseudo biamping Btw I've spent all week thinking about Wals
-
That's what I use in my rig, but I mix the signal back to mono once the treble side is processed.
Late to the party but was going to say "I'm sure I've seen one of these recently" Your rig sounded amazing Andy, whatever the technical term for it if it's not true biamping, it can destroy walls
-
Ditto not heard of any failures. I've never played through a 420 but if they're as good as the 800 and EVO models they'll be ace. Must resist Lozz's RM500
-
A 2x12 should be fine for most situations
-
I have the Vs212, the 412 is two of them. It'll be bloody big and heavy and you won't get a lot of high end sparkle, it's very vintage flavoured in its tone. There's nothing wrong with that if that's what you like, just it doesn't have huge flexibility imo
Actually no...! All amps must be matched with a cab (or cabs) with an impedance equal to or higher than the amps stated impedance. If you use two (or more) cabs the combined impedance is lowered e.g. two 8 ohm cabs = 4 ohms A Class D amp will work the same as any other amp.
Fair point - I was just answering on the basis of one cab. Same principle once you have more than one cab in that the combined impedance mustn't be lower, I just didn't think to add that bit
-
Oh damn. It came in at 1070 euro. Hmmmm.
-
So I've just been very silly and specced up a lovely 32" scale Elwood C on the configuration tool. Hypothetically speaking should I order, how much is shipping to the UK?

BF Gen 4 cabs - not anytime soon but a new BF Amp may be!
I have both of these and they are ace: D'addario Guitar Dock and Guitar Rest https://www.thomann.de/gb/planet_waves_pw_gd_01_guitar_dock.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw2s_MBRA5EiwAmWIac8LWn33CbCb5QYMmLVq01wLgmom8BriUB9VRVh0buBLqFDjLf5x2whoCUtkQAvD_BwE https://www.thomann.de/gb/planet_waves_gr_01_guitar_rest.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw2s_MBRA5EiwAmWIac3WZP39MB_nGmk2rOuOd50oAuHg-VtMNTGyUvTbSiwVvTkUDZpGythoCAlEQAvD_BwE
That's superb that is. Off I go to buy one -
hi there, just a little update on my fight with dpd over my damaged cabinet. No change, they are just refusing to pay for the damage .ill keep at them though.
Good luck, courier companies are bastards! Wishing you a successful outcome

On the Talkbass thread there is confirmation the power supply is universal, it's clearly just the label which is holding this up
-
https://instagram.com/p/BXs3p8-lJ2e/ Plus the cab can be used for gigs too, winner!
-
No probs. I remember being a bit miffed there wasn't a switch on the amp for the sub but then discovered it was footswitchable. And then I never bothered buying a foot switch .... They're great amps, I miss mine!
-
Yup - see http://ashdownmusic.com/products/1/Bass-Amplification/20/ROOTMASTER-EVO/144/RM500EVO-/

I think it's the Sub
i really would not like my gear to vanish!
I was hoping to make the zebra bass vanish at the bass, damn! -
Does this amp have the same power as the RM 800 ? People think the RM 800 is loud and the Retroglide is lacking . Why is that ?
They do indeed have the same power amp. I suspect that being ultra clean vs the RM preamp means the RM feels fuller and louder. It could also be that the RM preamp pushes the poweramp harder too...

I have successfully gigged a CTM100 and single BF SC on many occasions, it is an excellent combination IMO and you will still manage to destroy walls haha
Yep, give in now and just go for one. Merton, I've got a Skelf short scale (30.75") its a cracking bass.
Nice! Mine is 32" and is quite frankly the best sounding bass I've ever had and the best 5 string. Not that my 32" Finn 4 or 33" Finn 5 are in any way slouches of course but the Skelf is just perfection
