  1. My word. They do make good looking basses don’t they. Just a shame I didn’t get on with the one I played at the LBGS.
  2. Yup, I use a Super Compact for everything these days, having just sold the One10 due to lack of enough gigs 🤣
  3. Look at that! Stunning
  4. Oh my 😍 Sadly/thankfully I’m about 5 months away from having any money 😄
  5. Didn’t the mighty Trace V8 have a valve compressor circuit? What about the Laney Nexus valve head, does that have one?
  6. Played a Maruszczyk at the London Bass Show this year and didn’t get the fuss, though definitely not the worst bass I’ve ever played. That would be a Warwick FNA Jazzman which was a superb bass then, when I needed to borrow it for a gig, my friend changed the strings to these horrendous thin plinky things and the bass became unplayable. So really the strings rather than the bass but it’s haunted me haha
  7. It means the speaker output:
  8. Depends on your cab. I used it with a single Super Compact on a pub gig without PA support and it coped - just, no headroom left!
  9. Lovely example of Alan’s work, a superb price too!
  10. I concur. It’s a really good little amp but it ain’t my ABM on full tilt
  11. Very nice! I like the fact I can search by scale length, now all you need is some 32” basses hehehe
  12. Yup, for the money I’d rather find a nice second hand ACG or save a few hundred more for my own. I was massively underwhelmed with every bass I played at this year’s show, think I’m spoilt rotten with the ACGs in my life already!
  13. Cliff are round the corner from where I work, I could probably go round and pinch some from their stores haha
  14. Yup that’s where I spent many a teenage day annoying the guys playing bass! It turned into Eric Lindsey and is now a craft beer bar/store thing. Real shame.
  15. PM’d
  16. Edit : Oh wait.... 🧐
  17. My ACG Skelf is a 32” scale five string and it uses Alan’s custom sound Newtone strings. They are really very good, so much so I’d say it’s the best bottom B I’ve ever had on a bass.
  18. I love them! I don’t think I’ll look at another string manufacturer for a long time now.
  19. That’s what I use and would suggest too!
  20. You’re not alone @Lozz196 - I’ve got a hankering for one again now too 😂
  21. Yup, for louder gigs the RM is the only class D head I’d consider close to an old school A/B head. Great amps!
  22. That demo has reaffirmed my initial thoughts on this amp, can’t wait to get miy mitts on one!
  23. Last year I had to drive from Gatwick to Bradford and back in a day (for work!). I spent the day with Planet Rock and discovered two new bands which I liked very much. Thankfully, whilst the first time I heard each song I missed the band name, each was played at least three times throughout the day so I got a second chance to catch them!
