  1. How the hell did you manage to wangle that? Nice!
  2. Overwater got snowed in so couldn’t make it. As for Status it’s a shame they’ve not been there the last couple of years, I always enjoy a catch up with them!
  3. MiniMert and I quite enjoyed the Little Stubby. The overdriven tones are sublime and it goes quite loud, I’d say louder than the CTM30 but I’m basing this on fuzzy memory only. The feedback control is very cool, it literally feeds the signal back through the preamp valve (pre EQ) to thicken up the tone and add more “girth”. It also adds more volume too. The drive control seemed quite sensitive, below around 10 o’clock there seemed very little if any signal passing through, then it suddenly burst into life with warm thick valvey goodness. After about 12 o’clock you start dialling in more and more grit and overdrive - this thing is a monster for a hellish dirty tone. It’s not something I use a lot of but I can see myself trying it more, hehehe. Anyhoo, the pic is of MiniMert, sensibly defending his ears from the slapathon, giving my the all clear to buy it 🤓
  4. I will do my bestest as that’s top of my bass list today!
  5. About to jump in the car with MiniMert, looking forward to it still despite the snow’s best efforts. Shame to miss some people and exhibitors, but it’s better to be safe and not risk yourselves or your expensive toys!
  6. You’ll be wanting to wrench the bass from my hands when you hear my playing
  7. Will do!
  8. Excellent, MiniMert (and you poor sods!) will have to put up with me making bad noises through it for a bit
  9. Oh, is it £150 or £195?
  10. This won’t hang around long at that price!
  11. Hello Charlie! Big props to you last year for your patience whilst I changed my mind two or three times about which Barefaced can to buy
  12. Beautiful, I do love me a Status bass. Thesedays I prefer 32” scale but I am having a serious ponder...!
  13. Awesome testament to his work ethic and success, nice! I have about 5 or 6 Elwoods specced oh my phone, just trying to decide which way to go with it now. A classic (eg white/tort) or a bit different (that would be telling!). Once I’ve played some at the London Bass Show next week I’ll be closer to a decision
  14. Not Katies and Point Dexter, followed later in March by Def Leppard.... Oh yes.
  15. Wot 'e sed! Also, if it's overkill for you, chuck it darn sarf.....
  16. Lovely! Next SE Bass Bash that Scarab needs to make an appearance! (Please!)
  17. Funnily enough it’ll have a maple top with transparent coloured finish probably so your suggestion is bang on where I was headed! Builder? Maruszczyk
  18. That is very pretty
  19. I’d love a Chapperell 12 string or a 4 string Scarab, just to pretend I’m Jeff Ament and Rick Savage respectively 😎
  20. FWIW I’m thinking given that ebony is quite a bright fingerboard it’s be good to go Alder body to soften it a bit...
  21. So I’m getting closer to pulling the trigger on a custom jazz made by a certain well respected European manufacturer. Still undecided on core body wood so interested in people’s opinions please! The neck will likely be maple with ebony board but may be maple/maple....
  22. I’m hoping to see the new Spector Bantam shorty too.....
