1. I love the Super Compact, my favourite cab ever. And paired with a Rootmaster I can guarantee sonic joy and happiness
2. Definitely - do it! The LH500 is fecking superb.
3. That's an insane price! Someone surely has to snap this up?
4. Good news, I hope they pay in a timely manner
5. Yup it's confusing! Passive/active is out/in respectively Push flat/shape is in/out respectively All others tend to be clear as in in means on!
6. Weird, on all ABMs I've used you push the "push flat" switch IN to remove the preshape, not as described above. With it in the out position you get a huge smiley face EQ which sucks the power out of the amp as it's boosting around 60Hz or something daft.
7. Seriously tempted to get one of these with another couple of BF One10s. Argh. Must stop reading the positive comments on the thread!
8. Nothing wrong with your idea at all. In general the combos are wider so the sleeve is wider than the standard 19" rack size but it can and does work very well
9. This has happened to me twice - the GK MB200 and then the Ashdown RM800. It's just going froma few prototypes to larger scale manufacture is harder than people expect. Frustrating as hell of course!
10.
I like the sound of the early ABM's, I currently own an EVO 500 with the white buttons ( before the II/III/IV models) and find it brighter and snappier compared to newer EVO III versions I've tried at my local rehearsal studio. The early ones don't have compressors etc and the tube preamp is more like a presence control rather than a grind/distortion. They can also be picked up fairly cheaply for such a powerful amp and in my experience are very well made and robust amplifiers.
Ditto all this except for the buttons as my EVO has black buttons
11. Walkabout...... mmmmmmm...... Great cabs these, can do anything you want
12. Not really. Alex is saying that not all 1 litre engines are the same, and that not all little cabs are the same. Whether his cab is the cab in question or not has nothing to do with it the way I've read everything!
13. The serial number is a good giveaway. I can't remember myself how it works but pop it on the thread and someone may be able to assist BTW I was disappointed, I thought the thread would be about the time you took your ABM out to dinner and it got a bit pissed....
14. £1200 incl courier within the UK mainland
15.
Martin, sorry to hear you're having to sell this and about your band. Hope you're ok. I believe I have played this (although there were a lot of lovely ACG's at our mini bass bash) and was mightily impressed with the feel and sound, especially on the low B. Have a "good luck with the sale" bump on me!
Cheers matey - I'm sure you did have a fondle of this amongst the many! Must have a beer soon
16.
Silly question, but still no trades?
Afraid not, sale only
17. April bump, back up for sale at £1200. My band's just fallen apart and there's very little prospect (or desire, frankly) to find another right now so I'm struggling to justify all my toys.
18. I love the ABM, it's awesome. Enjoy!
19. This used to be mine, I asked Ashdown to make the special grille. Great cab, great guy to buy from. Nothing to lose
20. Yep, Barefaced cab with a Ashdown amp = happy Merton. Brilliant pairing.
21. I acquired a One10 at the London Bass Show and absolutely love it. Going to get a second at some point and have a killer tiny rig methinks. Well, the cabs are tiny, the head is an ashdown ABM haha
