    Awesome testament to his work ethic and success, nice! I have about 5 or 6 Elwoods specced oh my phone, just trying to decide which way to go with it now. A classic (eg white/tort) or a bit different (that would be telling!). Once I’ve played some at the London Bass Show next week I’ll be closer to a decision

    Funnily enough it’ll have a maple top with transparent coloured finish probably so your suggestion is bang on where I was headed! Builder? Maruszczyk

    FWIW I’m thinking given that ebony is quite a bright fingerboard it’s be good to go Alder body to soften it a bit...

    So I’m getting closer to pulling the trigger on a custom jazz made by a certain well respected European manufacturer. Still undecided on core body wood so interested in people’s opinions please! The neck will likely be maple with ebony board but may be maple/maple....

    Can’t wait to try/hear this amp in the flesh (somehow!). It looks absolutely bob on what I want in an all valve head. Not that I need it, but that’s another story haha

    I agree. If I had PA backup I wouldn’t have pushed mine so hard. The fact I know I can use it without PA to me is a good thing, though I do think if that were the norm then I’d avoid it! As a backup it’s perfect for my “loud” gigging situations and for my “less loud” situations I can use it as the main head if I want to

    It’s a great little head isn’t it? I gigged one a couple of weeks back with my BF SC, no PA support, and it just got on with it. There wasn’t really any headroom left but it didn’t sound like it was struggling at all, was really very nice. It has a warmer, more musical limiter than the GK MB200 IMO.
