1. Klaus has just been a gentleman when buying an ACG Finn from me. He covered all PayPal and currency fees and has been very quick to respond and courteous to boot. Top fella, deal with confidence
2. Sold pending
3. Little mid November boing
4. You should. My favouritestest amplificatory device ever.
5. Nice!
6. Yup, Ashdown ABM all the way for me. The RM is a close substitute but the ABM has “more”
7. That’s great! Where do you find all these medium scale basses? I never come across any!
8. The pink is too garish innit?
9. OMG so much want. Sadly no cash!
10. Nah. Whilst part of me really is tempted just because it’s crazy, I’m more about one of these:
11. Hell yes! or should I say, stop encouraging me
12. They are classy, me likey
13. Price was €1360 if I remember correctly. I am actually seriously tempted....
14. Still here and still for sale
15.
Outrageously cheap. GLWTS. Sorry I'm not in a buying position - as I don't play with a band any more, I can't justify the number of basses I have at the moment. I love my Finn 4. Could I suggest you change your car instead rather than sell your bass? :-)
Haha, the Mrs wants me to get a new car too! Thing is it’s a great car when it’s running, just this year has become very expensive for it. Hopefully next year will be completely the opposite I’ve had a few trade suggestions which are more along the lines of a straight swap, sadly with my financial position any trade I do would need to be cash plus the item in question, hence the suggestions have all been less than half the value i’m putting on the bass. Straight sale is preferable
16. Awesome, haven’t played this for years!
17.
I've used lots of Ashdown amps and still own a few - a Superfly, quite a few of the MiBass models (my faves), an ABM 600 and now a DH30. They're great. I'm not as happy their cabs though. I've been pairing MiBass heads with Barefaced cabs for a while now. Great sound - but not as good with the Ashdown cabs.
I concur
18.
Howdy, it was my choice to cover Hysteria for the column. I have a list of albums as long as your arm to cover but the remit from day one was cover all sorts of albums, not just the Greatest Hits Of Jaco or Stanley on a monthly basis. Where possible I/we try to pick albums that have an anniversary pending (or not, it's not cast in stone) but I proposed some months back a 3 issue run of albums, by a band or artist, that sold massively and for that artist, they never produced a bigger selling album, I chose 1987 and hence the INXS/Def Leppard/George Michael albums. On top of that, the Hysteria deluxe boxset was released a few months back and we have Rick Savage's interview in the wings too. There is no denying that in the rock arena, Hysteria changed quite a lot of things as far as rock albums go, not least the production values that Mutt Lange brought to the album. Don't despair, there are plenty of bass-centric albums lined-up, such as Marcus Miller's 'The Sun Don't Lie' in a month or two. As an ongoing column, the possibilities are almost endless so hopefully I'll cover something you do like soon. All the best, Mike
Awesome, thanks Mike. Perfick explanation and totally agree with you and your thinking on this. Looking forward to the Rick Savage interview, he’s a much better player than he ever lets on in Lep.
19. Hysteria is a superb album of songs but it’s not really got any distinguishable basslines on it except the beginning of Gods Of War really... strange choice indeed!
20. Complete tumbleweed! I appreciate the preamp isn’t as crazy as Alan’s filter modules but if it’s not to taste it can easily be swapped out for the UniPre-3. Another car bill is looming so try me with suggestions/offers, I can only say no!
21.
Still at a complete loss as to who needs a head this small, sacrificing so much flexibility and power and relatively speaking not so much cost. Majority of Class D heads will fit in your gigbag and weigh very little, so why go this small?
For me this is the perfect head for about 60% of what I do these days, the fact it’s even smaller than others is actually a great help as other “gig bag” amps tend to be not quite small enough. This really does fit in the front pocket of my gig bag. Or would do, if I owned one. Which I probably will one day.
