  1. Mr Button did Series 6 to SMX / 12 band I believe, and Ashdown for the first 10 years or so I think
  2. The narrower one is a 100W combo without additional speaker output. There’s also a 200W 12 band version of this size
  3. Yep, Series 6 then the 7 band went to SM and 12 band to SMX. When Gibson took over the SM became SMC
  4. Get the gain as high as you can, the hotter the signal in the preamp the better. Much like a Ashdown funnily enough given their heritage
  5. Alex recommended the 3x10 solution for me a couple of months back; I went down the One10 plus SC route in the end for various reasons and I am very happy You can get a Two10 made with the logo in the correct orientation - discreet did exactly that
  6. Another vote for the One10, it’s astonishingly good
  7. It’s cracking Mike, really good for the money and size! Hopefully can get a loud rock rehearsal under its belt this week to see what the prospects are for those sorts of gigs...
  8. That’s a completely different beast from the 100, it is a solid state preamp for one!
  9. There’s one on Facebook for £600 at the mo.... edit - here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/689090051102626/permalink/1760003814011239/?sale_post_id=1760003814011239
  10. It is the best bass amp I’ve ever used. One day I’ll own another when I can afford it
  11. Yes that’s cool. I misunderstood your intentions I think! So yes, the elf can be used as a DI to save on an additional bit of gear
  12. Yup I have one, for the purposes I bought it it is perfect. Next week I’ll try it out at a rehearsal with a loud rock band just to see if it copes, but so far love it
  13. If you want a DI only I’d spend the money on something like a SansAmp or one of the many other dedicated Preamp/DI boxes as they’re cheaper and offer more flexibility
  14. Hello Nik! No money for new toys right now, got a few house things to resolve sadly
  15. Glorious!
  16. I think you’ll find yourself in heaven
  17. Hot damn that is lovely!
  18. Looks like a cracking set up! I can see why you didn’t like the BB2 with the CTM, I suspect the “best” BF cab for it would be a Four10. Great amps and I wish I still had mine!
  19. Brilliant
  20. Well they were designed by Dave Green, and I suspect they do little more than final assembly being the size they are. I would think all the amp manufacture is sub contracted out, it certainly was by Trace Elliot back in the late 90s / early 00s
  21. Watched it a couple of nights ago, it all became clear when I realised Jason Hook was an executive producer or something. There were so many guys it could have featured and ultimately you’ll never please everyone. FWIW I enjoyed it on the whole, the missus didn’t enjoy the fret wankery as much as me though, but she learned a bit about Randy Rhoades so can’t all be bad
  22. This is very similar to one of the (many) I am contemplating next year! Very nice sir, great Christmas present to yourself 👍🏻
  23. The BTA is a beast. Sounds amazing, needs a crane to lift it 😜
  24. Whenever I see it mentioned I (perhaps mistakenly) just presume they mean the preshape and that’s what I always have in mind. A slightly clipped mid cut sound. I completely agree many amps can provide this - Eden and SWR have a mid cut control, Ashdown have a very similar preshape etc etc - but for some reason the “Trace sound” is the one which sticks in mind! I’m only speaking for myself of course
