1.
Is anyone bringing a BF One10? Now that Grangur has had to pull out I don't see another on the list.
I am Dave
2.
Interesting thoughts Mick.. Hope you can make the Bash as it'll be good to see you - but also, I'm sure peeps there will be very keen to see/hear this little fella in action! 😊
Wot Nik sed
3. Still can't get over how small it is! I'm glad it's finally arrived Mick, and look forward to reading your thoughts on it
4. I salute you sir 👍🏻
5.
No, I didn't have time to A/B the Elf against anything else unfortunately. I was actually trying out a Tokai Thunderbird when Dave at GB suggested I run it through the Elf. Might get a chance Monday though...
Is that when you're going back to pay for the Thinderbird?
6.
Tried an ELF out yesterday at GB Music in Bognor (gbmusic.co.uk) and was amazed at the volume it out our for such a small piece of kit! It's half the size of my Zoom B3 , and smaller than some pre-amps I've owned in the past. Quite how it would be in a gig setting I've no idea, but it's a very clever piece of technology.
Did you compare it with any other amps Nik? For example the Eden Terra Nova I spy in your first pic is another "new amp from an old legend" and I'd probably have annoyed the shop by basically wanting to try that and everything else too
7. Ok! For Sale ACG Finn 5 Custom 33" Scale Maple/wenge neck with wenge fingerboard Ash body, wenge accent, myrtle top Volume, active blend, passive tone with pull pot for passive blend Schiller straplocks Built for me in 2015 BassBash price £1075 including Hiscox case See / PM Merton if you're interested
8. Very much looking forward to this. I have a gig the night before and a gig in the evening so will probably be knackered but it'll be fun! Is there going to be a thread with people listing their items for sale or just turn up and see what's available? One of my ACGs will have a for sale sign on it probably
9. I sold my BF cabs because I needed money. I'm now in a situation where I want to get them back again - I have started the ball rolling with a One10 and I'm now weighing up the options of a Super Compact, a One10, a Two10 or a Four10....
10.
Email from Marcus at BD advising my Elf has arrived - would I like it to be sent out today for Monday delivery?
No, you'd like it sent out for Saturday delivery surely?
11. Getting closer! Still very interested to hear how this pans out as a useful useable tool
12.
Thanks very much Merton. Forgot to say that I'm based in Hertfordshire & travel to north London currently with work if that helps
Not really, it puts you even closer yet even more out of reach hahaha
13. sh*t sh*t sh*t. Want the amp, can't bloody afford it right now. GLWTS!
14. I can ring them on Monday if it helps? Is anyone bringing a Maruszczyk please? I'd like to see what the fuss is about! Looking forward to it!
15. Straying slightly off topic your 12-er did indeed sound stupendous with your pseudo biamping Btw I've spent all week thinking about Wals
16.
That's what I use in my rig, but I mix the signal back to mono once the treble side is processed.
Late to the party but was going to say "I'm sure I've seen one of these recently" Your rig sounded amazing Andy, whatever the technical term for it if it's not true biamping, it can destroy walls
17. Ditto not heard of any failures. I've never played through a 420 but if they're as good as the 800 and EVO models they'll be ace. Must resist Lozz's RM500
18. Very nice
19. A 2x12 should be fine for most situations
20. I have the Vs212, the 412 is two of them. It'll be bloody big and heavy and you won't get a lot of high end sparkle, it's very vintage flavoured in its tone. There's nothing wrong with that if that's what you like, just it doesn't have huge flexibility imo
21.
Actually no...! All amps must be matched with a cab (or cabs) with an impedance equal to or higher than the amps stated impedance. If you use two (or more) cabs the combined impedance is lowered e.g. two 8 ohm cabs = 4 ohms A Class D amp will work the same as any other amp.
Fair point - I was just answering on the basis of one cab. Same principle once you have more than one cab in that the combined impedance mustn't be lower, I just didn't think to add that bit
22. Oh damn. It came in at 1070 euro. Hmmmm.
23. So I've just been very silly and specced up a lovely 32" scale Elwood C on the configuration tool. Hypothetically speaking should I order, how much is shipping to the UK?
