1. May consider trade plus cash my way for a Barefaced One10 or Super Compact.
2. Now I've settled into life with the new Skelf I'm finding that this isn't given much of a look in. TBH although there's only an inch between the two in terms of scale length the 32" just suits me better. So I've had a rethink and instead of defrettung this I will allow it to go to a good home and then commission a new 32" fretless from Alan instead. £1100 incl Hiscox lifeflight case and U.K. Mainland delivery. Which is a veritable bargain for a custom spec ACG.
3. Are the 410s relatively new, they weren't part of the "original" EVO launch were they? I keep considering going back to a 410 and this seems to be a real contender if I ever manage it for the same reasons as Lozz..
4. That's impeccable condition for the price! Damn fine bargain
5. Busy but good thanks. Keep commissioning new ACGs How about you?
6. Not sure on value tbh but you're welcome to come down and try my Status J any time dude
7.
Can't really do any slapiladapilies on it. But, I have my Lakland for that. I still think it's wider than Ibanez's string spacing though, but someone will have to correct me if I'm wrong.
Seems v small to me, my ACGs are 45mm nut with 17mm spacing at the bridge and I thought they were quite compact! I can see the appeal though, very much
8.
That's what I was suggesting. Doing the focus group work ahead of time with heir retailers (to judge the market without releasing) and then release to the public at NAMM... or maybe just use NAMM as the testing point it's supposed to be without everybody sharing every detail with the public who then want to buy something they can't get! For me, it's like putting loads of money into a movie and releasing lots of trailers and then bypassing cinema to release it on BluRay 6 months later.
Fair enough
9.
You'd have thought with NAMM every year being the pinnacle of manufacturers showing off their new stuff that they would plan their release around NAMM. I.e. Build prototypes, do testing etc before NAMM, get loads produced before NAMM and then release with stock following almost instantly. Most manufacturers seem to take something to NAMM sand you're lucky if it hits the retailers within 3-6 months, even for the big guys. Totally crazy, cos you'd make a killing if you had something good and people could just buy it before anything else got released!
I guess they use it to gauge audience/consumer reaction. Imagine doing it the way you suggest with hundreds of amps built and ready to ship only for it to be met with complete indifference? What they should at least do is have all the prototyping and production issues ironed out so that it's just a case of hitting the switch and getting a production order for 50/100/200 whatever....
10. It's very narrow for a fiver though isn't it?
11. Wow everything up for sale, what's the new rig going to be?
12.
Isn't that what you call a blessing in disguise?
If it had meant we could get off the boat and not play the show then yes Sadly not the case
13. Congratulations guys
14. NYE 2013, doing a party on a Thames cruise boat. Our guitarists Marshall started smoking, then came the flames and then a big pop and it was dead. Fun times.
15. Flippin heck that's a bargain
16. Could well be
17. Superb. The SC works so well with the ABM and RM heads, you're going to be very happy
18.
Just don't (ever) touch that "sub" knob. Horrid.
A subtle bit of it can be very nice occasionally but yeah, mostly best avoided
19. Interesting! I tried the AG700 at the LBGS and hated it, but to be fair I was playing an unfamiliar bass and it wasn't exactly quiet there
20. Get that, the RM800 is a stonking amp!
21. Along with an Eden WT400/550 this is one of those amps I'd definitely have in my collection in a heartbeat if I had the readies. Sadly lacking them so I have to watch on the sidelines!
22. I'll get a family pic of the Skelf and Finn together but for now have a look at Alan's page - my Skelf is a 32" beast. Absolutely incredible bass to play and the tone is to die for. The bottom B is superb, dare I say probably the best bottom B I've played! http://www.acguitars.co.uk/project/0274skelf4/
23. £1150 delivered to the UK final price drop
24.
Alive by Pearl Jam, off one of my favourite albums and great to play. So what tunes are other basschatters enjoying playing?
Great tune! I'm currently polishing up an 18-track set for a dep gig I've got in France in a fortnight. My favourite song on the list is Love Walked In (by Thunder) but the whole set is cracking!
