1.
Ashdown CTM100, it's the only amp I've ever really used that gives me the tone I want and doesn't have to struggle with the rest of my band. It's a lovely beast and Merton's thread pushed me over the edge with my uncertainty and made it certain I wanted one. I'm glad I did.
That's right, blame me haha I still rate that amp as the finest thing I've ever used, just wish I hadn't had to sell both of the ones I've owned. I will get another when I can afford it. As for my answer - Ashdown VS212 cab. Bought 2nd hand from eBay for not a lot of dosh and it is very good, even moreso given the experience I had with the VS112 which just didn't do it for me.
2. Wow, stupendous price. GLWTS
3. Cracking price, cracking amp. I love me EVO
4. Great amp, great fella to deal with
5. That's the ticket!
6.
Ooof... I don't need a 100w tube head, but... I think I need one.
Put that in a different flightcase and I'd be all over it if I had funds. Nice!
7.
I'd prefer these steel grills to my root masters , I think I'll look for a pair & put my Sica drivers in them .
The cab dims and port may not suit the drivers as well as the RM cabs. You'd be better asking Ashdown for custom steel grilles for the current cabs
8.
OK, seeing as there are guys in this thread that reall know their stuff, dumbass question. I would love to get two of these 210's. Would that mean I'm running at 6 ohms? Current amp is Ashdown RM 800 (mannnn, that DRIVE!! getcha Lemmy on).
Correct I can vouch for the RM sounding IMMENSE through the Two10 cab btw. If I had not been in the financial position I find myself that probably would have become my main rig this year.
9.
I've been using two 10" 4 slice toasters and a 15" Hotpoint for quite a few years now and no one has complained about my tone! 😤
Pretty sure a small double slice 12" toaster could replace all that with more heft. It'll be a crispier tone too.
10.
Ooh I so want this, but it leads me on to a related question. I know its conventional to stack the tumble dryer on top of the washing machine, but surely with the larger drum, the tumble dryer will give a better low end response if you stack them the other way around?
I hope you're not mixing drum sizes? That way madness lies.....
11.
Good to know they stock them. A friend works there so I may pop in next time in London bound.
Dude let me know if you do, I'm not too far away myself
12. Shitballs!
13. I emailed Peavey yesterday, those in the Customer Services offices don't yet know a release date apparently. They kept this very very hidden from all but a few employees there it seems. Or so they claim at least
14.
Yeah the pedal looks really really good. £369 RRP apparently
£349 apparently, I were wrong!
15.
So this will make me sound like Geddy Lee, right?
Yes. With his technical ability as well. And not just on bass, but singing too.
16. Karl just bought an amplificatory device from me, he was an absolute gent and paid exactly when he said he would. Excellent communication and a top chap
17. Ah, in the back pocket of a bloke now too, good good! $299 I guess equates to the same (£299) over here probably....
18. Neither. I believe they are more akin to a re-thought MAG preamp
19.
Seriously though... If the Elf was cheap enough, I'd consider getting one for the home or little acoustic get togethers... maybe this is the taster before the big guns come out. If you consider this as a starting point, going up against the likes of say, something like the D200... with the vision on going onto something more akin to the GB Shuttles... then maybe they are onto something.
I hope this is the case. I like the look of the Elf but it's missing an aux in for my personal home practice situations.
20. Is your ABM400 an old model or the "Neo" Class d head, Kevin?
21. Yeah the pedal looks really really good. £369 RRP apparently
22. The Origin amp looks ace but is missing one thing (IMO) which makes the headphone socket really useful - an aux input.
23.
Nobody's talking about that cab? It looks lovely, i would like to know more about it. Looks like a very compact 210 or 208, if they managed to pack the TE punch in that little thing i would be very interested in one.
Ditto - can't see any info on it yet?
24. Interesting. The Elf could be a good little backup head. I wonder what power amp module it uses... Nothing on the speaker cabs yet that I can see?
