3.
Watching this with interest. Mike builds lovely basses and is a top bloke to have a natter with.
That he is. A good 11 years ago I was seeing a young lady in Brentwood and she had to work one Saturday so, at a loose end, I headed up to Mike's shop and spent a very enjoyable couple of hours noodling on various amps and cabs and he gave me a tour of the workshop. Given I only spent £50 whilst there I have to say he went way above and beyond accommodating me! Top fella, and his basses and cabs aren't bad either
 4. Yes John East's active blend is ace. I really wanted a passive bass but Aan said exactly the same as Mike and suggested this option. It works really well and I haven't looked back
 5.
Re Tolex Araldite it. It will outlast the cab.
Good call. It'll outlast humanity too probably
 6.
I miss your MB Fusion, too...
Haha
 7.
These have the best preamp section I've ever used.
Yup, one of my favourite solid state heads ever. If I had spare cash I'd probably have eaten Nick's arm off for this already
 8.
And me! Picking up a GK Fusion 500 tomorrow and all being well ordering a One10 next week. May have to grab a cable too...
That rig will kill. I miss my MB Fusion sometimes, along with the RM800 it's the best class D head I've used
 9.
Unexpected speakon lead GAS I have.
Funnily enough I am too
 10. There's an Ashdown MiBass 2.0 on eBay for £125; 400W little amp which gives loads of money left for a decent second hand cab too. Worth a look?
 11.
Christ, you deserve some treasure after all that lot. I sincerely hope you don't need No. 4. Good luck.
+1
 12.
I suppose I could have mentioned it directly, but I had more important things to worry about - I've had 3 operations in the last few months.
Puts things well into perspective, hope all good
 13. To be fair it's exactly the same way as I've seen all other cabs covered - do the four sides in one long roll then do the back panel separately. That said I'd not be happy with it peeling after such a short space of time, I seem to recall similar issues on the Retro Two10 so it's a shame if it's not sorted yet.
 14. I had to learn 15 songs in a week a month ago for a dep gig. It was great fun and a good excuse to get my bass room sorted in my new house As soon as that gig was finished I had to do a similar thing for another band the following week but only 5 songs and two days. On top of my day job, where I'm out of the house for about 11 hours of the day, and juggling looking after my son on some days it was hard work but damn good fun
 15.
I'm thinking of picking up one of these and a GK MB Fusion....
Great idea
 16. Great amp and price! Do you have any pics as they'll help shift this I'm sure
 17.
There's no need to be rude, mate!
18. Barefaced Super 12 or Super Twin. The S12 is the older cab with standard eminence drivers and probably marginally more "pokey", the STwin is the Gen3 with proprietary drivers and a more rounded tone but will easily do poke
 19.
Ashdown ABM & Barefaced super compacts make a very versatile rig .
Yes, yes they do!
 20.
Hee, hee. The build quality is not bad. You can specify a mod to have the handle on the side with the feet, thus leaving a nice flat area on the other side for your amp... quite a few on TB have done this, and one or two of this parish also, I believe.
This isn't helping! Argh
 21.
Don't lose hope yet Martin, it might be totally crap at an actual gig...
Fingers crossed Mark Also most intrigued by the amp stand. Never really bothered before but actually quite taken with the idea the more I think about it. You'll have to let me know the pros and cons of the Stagg vs the (I assume!) MarkBass Velcro strip(TM)
 22. Sounds awesome. Just what I didn't need.
 23. Please make the review totally biased against the One10 to alleviate the painful GAS I'm suffering!
