1. Now that is a fine looking rig, bet it sounds pretty sweet too
2. You guys are legends, thank you very much
3. Ashdown CTM100 is worth a look - I used one with one or two BF Super Compacts last year and it was ace. There are only two amps I've regretted selling and this is one of them!
4.
God, I love BassChat! What a community. Anyway, enough of the group hug, what have you snagged Merton?
Yeah it's great isn't it! I've snaffled an Eden WT400 at a price too good to miss (I think)
5.
With me meeting Chas at 10am I told Donny to have a lie-in,then thought it's wasted chance to meet up. Course Donny's offline now. What an arse I am at times.
D'oh!
6. Very kind of you thanks! I've let Davie know in case it is a cunning plan which works for him
7. Thanks chaps! kodiakblair is very kindly taking on this one for me but if we hit any complications I'll be back on here
8. That could work! Will see what the seller thinks and let you know - cheers!
9. There's a bass-related toy I quite fancy on Gumtree but it's a bit far from Surrey for me to collect personally... I'd arrange pay you the value of the amp and some extra for your hassle and packing, then arrange a courier from you to me. I could just take that risk with the Gumtree seller but I'd prefer to work this through someone known and trusted on here if possible
10. Wow the bumping rule has left the building I'd be all over this if I wasn't buying a house. I'm sure someone will be along soon though
11. The CTM is very very good, IMO - frankly I wish I'd never sold the one I had. It's nothing like the Trace V-Type preamp from what I can remember of the Trace, not that that is a good or a bad point. They're just different. But yes, I would happily buy another CTM if I could.
12.
is it a £2500 edge?
No. Hence why I'm selling my BTA
13. Yes you can hear the difference, live onstage. I did an A/B comparison of my ABM and BTA and the BTA has that valve "heft" from the valve power amp. The ABM is very close to it but the BTA does have the edge
14.
Mert, I'm not sure I'd get away with basses on the living room wall. You're much braver than me to try that one on.
I'll let you know when I lose
15.
The wife has her own "messes" stored around the house so we're quits.
Must remember this post when arguing with Mrs Mert about my basses going on the living room wall of our new house
16.
Is there room to add another socket in parallel on the cab connector plate?
Another good call - I did this on one of my Mi10 cabs
17. Ask our very own OBBM to make you a box like Clauster showed you
This thread is NOT helping... I can you mark it as "inappropriate"?...
I suspect your own thread in a couple of months will cause me problems just as this one is Lovely pair of basses
19.
Be reasonable what you expect from even 2x110 outside, particuarly. If your 110 is 8ohms...don't add a 210 at 8 as you will unbalance the signal in 110 and 210... For that sort of gig, I'd add a 212, but even then, I'd expect the amp to be running ragged, tbh... Maybe a 4 ohms 212 will maximise things, but outside gigs ask a LOT from a bass rig
A decent 212 should cope well enough but I'd agree with this on the whole
20. Great amp, get some pics up of its shiny silver goodness
