1. Ooooh this looks purdy! Looking forward to seeing it develop
2. Madness that this is still here, a great amp in excellent condition for such little outlay
3.
Shame on you for such a dreadful pun.
I couldn't resist
4. Ashdown just cover all the bases really - cheap and cheerful practice amps, affordable rigs for the weekend warrior, up to the expensive custom shop / premium UK-built gear for the pros or people like me (more money than talent). Some of their stuff IS premium, some of it (and the majority that we see in guitar shops!) isn't so much
5. So, er, is the V4 going to be sold? ........
6.
I haven't tried a BTA yet through fear of buying one, but I can only seem to find the 400w model and that's waaaay overkill for what I need. I love being able to get the back end growl from the CTM without destroying the venue!!
They didn't make very any BTA200s or 300s - Mark Gooday told me only 20 200s were made and I'd wager even fewer 300s. Only the 400 survived, custom shop only now mind you, but I suspect the fact that there was no discernible difference in weight - and certainly not size! - they decided to just keep the most powerful one
7.
How're you getting on with the CTM? I really love mine. Merton is a traitor and has bought a BTA 200 but I bet it's amazing
Haha, I am The BTA is incredible though, a very close call between it and the CTM really, different preamp flavours obviously but they both kick ass. If I could have kept the CTM and BTA together I would have done
8.
With the B Social, I could replace several of the things that take up so much space in my room. Okay, so I may not use all the features, but being able to plug in to a decent practice amp, and stream Spotify from my phone, without any wires attached, and having the option of a friend jamming along, that price starts to seem very attractive (plus it looks great, and as musicians we all know that really, it's about the look ). I'm very looking forward to trying one at the Bass Show this year, and potentially getting rid of quite a few awkward cables, and plug sockets, and gaining some bedroom space back. I think everyone is entitled to an opinion, but let's not be rude folks. I'm very proud to be an Ashdown user, but that doesn't mean I think all other brands are awful. Everyone should have their own thing otherwise this site would be pointless, with us all owning the same amp, cab and bass. Now that would be a sad occurrence. Well done Ashdown for giving something a go.
Well said that man
9. My main rig is a heavyweight amp (35kg) with lightweight cabs, but the cabs will likely change soon as I need something wider to have a safe stack with the valve amp on top! I will keep class D and lightweight cabs for rehearsals and those gigs where I have to transport my gear by myself. But yes I too have gone back to big lumps of iron and glowing glass tubes
10.
So you can see to plug in your amp on a dark stage?
That is their argument; normally I'd plug the cabs in before turning on the amp though :/
11. Awesome amp, I have the BTA200 and love it. You may want to amend the thread title though because that says ABM GLWTS
12. Ralph just bought my CTM100, he made the trek down from London to try it out and agreed to pay by bank transfer as soon as he got home. A thoroughly lovely chap and a pleasure to meet and do business with Enjoy the amp sir!
13. Merton

Dilemma!

I'd be very interested Alex
14.
One is a hybrid, sorry...
Not enough amplification. Must try harder Lovely collection sir!
15. PS did you ask this on eBay recently as I had a very similar question when it was on there?!
16. Having owned an ABM500 I'd say it was on a par
17.
The Fusion is more than worth the extra cash. It's immense and you will have total control of your mids and then some.
I absolutely concur. I found the non-Fusion a bit too agressive in the upper mids for my liking but the MB Fusion was perfect, whether it was a general voicing or the valves doing the taming I don't know, but it was lovely
18.
Shame these cabs didn't break into the mainstream
Yup, DLP put a lot into these and it's a real shame he didn't get the return
19. They're traditional Class A/B as opposed to Class D I believe. Not yet tried one but I'm sure they'll be at the London Bass Show to have a little tinkle!
20.
Hmm, this would look quite good on top of my 610. Haha.
Yes, yes it would.
