  1. I concur!
  2. You’re right.Class D is the power amp design; traditional solid state and valve heads tend to use class AB power amp topology. Class D is more often than not linked with an SMPS (switch mode power supply) as opposed to the traditional power supply found in valve and class AB heads, and that’s actually where most of the weight saving comes from 🤓
  3. Ok I’ll bite - yes 🤓
  4. Uh oh. Been thinking about one of these for a while. Lacking in funds may be my saviour/downfall (delete as applicable)
  5. Sorry @AndyTravis, that was mean 😘
  6. Happy February present to someone else…? 😜
  7. I’ve not bought anything except a Backbeat v1. I sold it a couple of months later as decided I didn’t need it. So it was my best and worst 😄
  8. @stevie’s LFSys cabs are exceptional. The Monaco especially so, though I appreciate that isn’t what was mentioned here. Would love to try one on a gig! Note they are very different in concept to the Barefaced x10 range
  9. The original post (now edited out) said 4 ohm
  10. I have one and it’s very easy to use. I barely use it though, and was thinking of selling…
  11. Likewise! Often get told to turn down tbh. And as @BassAdder60 said, the “big” Elf (TE1200) is 4 Ohm min as well, but Peavey did say they were testing its stability at 2 ohms…
  12. Both bassists and all basses sounded great but that Blitz was my favourite. Immense tone!
  13. It was a great gig! I was explaining to someone about Doug’s Trace cabs as they weren’t sure what they were - had to stop myself going into full geek mode 🤣 I thought both bands were great, though from where we were Gary Cherone did seem to be struggling to pitch a fair bit, always felt flat. But the energy levels and musicianship on display… wow. I think MiniMert was suitably impressed, his head was bobbing up and down throughout 😎 Great to see @cetera briefly as we’re were looking at the (tiny!) merch stand 🙂
  14. Played through @WalMan’s one of these at the recent SE Bass bash. Lovely thing - the clean and dirt channels especially gorgeous. GLWTS
  15. You just have to use your ears I’m afraid. I discovered early on that getting the gain set right really made a difference to the compressor, and you can crank it a hell of a lot more than you may expect. I tend to err on the side of caution and keep it around 11-12 o’clock because I tend to run an HX Effects in front of it, with some overdrive, so don’t want to mistake amp/cab distortion for something I actually want there at war volume. Of you’ve got an Elf, I expect it has a similar gain structure to that as I can run that input gain very high before clipping, and feel I get similar results with the TE1200
  16. MiniMert has a Jet Tele guitar, he loves it. As do I tbh; he tried Squiers, Epiphones and Jet options at GAK and went for the Jet. The neck is sublime, for a guitar worth £159 it’s amazing!
  17. New strings! And great username 😎🤘🏻🤘🏻
  18. Ah man, every time this comes up… don’t need it, have no room for it, but… gah 😄
  19. It may be the official launch of new 10” drivers discussed elsewhere on here. Hoping it’s an amp though 😄
  20. I need to get this downloaded asap!
  21. I avoid singing in the quieter songs as much as I can, because it isn’t that far off those audience vocals… 😆
  22. There’s some lovely audience singing on this one… Bear in mind the previous two videos were from larger festival stages… in the smaller environments like Pizza Express he’s a lot more sympathetic
  23. Yeah he is quite a hard hitter. I’ll find a video where he shows he can play softly
