1. Status Shark 5 String Limited Edition Seafoam Green with Pearloid Scratchplate Cracking bass, it has been my favourite ever since I bought it in early 2011. Very easy neck, light as a feather (around 8.5lb) and an absolute joy to play. Equipped with a single soapbar pickup and passive vol/tone controls, this really couldn't be easier to plug in and play. This is in pretty good condition for its age but there are some dinks on it, I have pictured almost all of them (there are a couple on the headstock of which I can't seem to get a decent photo, but they are minor and don't affect anything). The crack by the neck joint is just in the lacquer. £375 without a case or with a Hiscox liteflight case (Bass Centre branded) for £400. Courier to the UK included or at buyer's cost if further afield
  2. Cheers, my friend is happy to pay postage I think. What would it cost? £10?
  3.
The LB30 was never designed to be a gigging amp! Buy a CTM 100 or 300... Those are the giggable valve amps,,, ;-)
I concur. I love my new (to me) CTM100
Be careful when selecting cabs, just like a 70's SVT these amps chew up speakers, I reckon these will do them quicker. Speaker wise the best is probably the trusty eminence BP102, or something that can handle a good low range ie 3012lf not 3012ho
I think the BF cabs will be fine
  4. All I'm saying is you questioned how a 1x12 could "beat" an 8x10 and suggested a placebo effect; I merely offered a reason as to why a 1x12 might be perceived to "beat" an 8x10 Edit: not sure I explained myself well in the first post on this matter
  5. Might know someone who's interested, will let you know! Would you post?
  6.
not to be a basher, but surely for there is a tiny placebo effect happening here? ie i doubt that a 112 cab no matter how good should be anywhere near an 810?
Maybe the 8x10 is a particularly crap example of the 8x10 concept, and also bear in mind the comparison was centred around the tone of the cabs. The 1x12 is more focused in the mids due to a superior (probably!) design so the perceived superior volume is easy to understand in context
  7. I have an SC in my possession at the mo, but it's not actually MINE because mine will be with vintage silver cloth grille. Gigged it a couple of weeks back, the rest of the band couldn't tell the difference sonically between it and my old Super 12 Oh, I will actually be collecting TWO SCs when they're finished, whoop. That will destroy walls
  8. Oh no, that's horrible. You'll have to donate it to me.
  9. Love the bass tone on that, monster Great track too, nice one!
  10. Like it How about….. something by Coldplay…? Nah, kidding. Something good please, more of this vibe again
  11.
[sub]What I have just witnessed literally scared me . . . ! . . . [/sub] [sub]As a relative novice I now feel that I should throw my Bass into a skip as I truly know, hand on heart, I will NEVER achieve [/sub] [sub]or get any where close to the standard I have just seen. Simply put . . . [/sub][sub]Im a broken man . . . [/sub] [sub]Send me the TAB :-) [/sub] [sub]All the best[/sub]
I concur. I need to practice more EDIT: forgot to say, lovely playing sir! Nice one
  12.
The 100W should do the trick - but there's a bargain £795 CTM300 on the 'bay at the moment: http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 Shame it's pickup only and miles away from you though!
Bloody hell that is a bargain! I haven't yet gigged mine but I'd wager the CTM100 is man enough for you. I'd sell the LB cabs though and get a second Midget...
  13.
Hmm? Should I stock up on replacement valves for my Streamliner now?
Why? The valves aren't made by GB so this has nothing to do with valve replacement
  14.
Any space for a Status Trace Elliot T Bass?
Yes. Of course. Pics please

  16.
the more basschatters I meet the more i realise I'm a really bad bass player...
This EDIT: but everyone I have met has been a lovely chap or chapess, we're all a bloody lovely bunch aren't we

Nice! You need to change your username now though
  19. Gotta say it's not really the style of music which floats my boat but it is an incredibly good track and certainly much better than the mainstream music of this genre. Nice once lads
  20. I've heard of Max Martin and I've also heard that all the Motown artists had their songs written for them too
