Diago Micropower9

Just pulled the trigger on one, looks perfect for my little board
2. We do this and I have (tp my shame) never sat down and properly learnt it so I just wander around aimlessly whilst watching our guitarists
3. Headroom, indeed. I doubt you'll hear a huge volume difference between the two anyway. I'm on tenterhooks for the MB Fusion 800....
4. Personally of what I've heard (which is limited to the 1518 and 1048H) the new stuff is better. Slightly more lightweight but the sound was fuller and less "middy" to me. THe old cabs were OK for their time but things have moved on. That said, the 1153 is still a great cab today The old 1518 was heavy and a bit dull sounding (IMO - no real low end or high mid) but the new 1518 really sounded good to my ears. The old 1048H weighed more than the UK and whilst the new one is still heavy it's an improvement. Again, soundwise the old ones just seemed a little less full sounding than the new ones. The old 2103H was a bit crappy IME, the horn was awful and the drivers crapped out quite early on. Maybe just my style of playing brought that about though
5. Oh I know I'll regret selling it but it doesn't get much, if any, use now
6. PM'd And a "still available" bump too
7. Gotta say the boys at Ashdown were lovely today to both me and Joe. We went over to their stand at the LBGS and Joe said "Hello, I'm the panda" and they spent ages talking to us. Top notch fellas, well done
8. Well done! My good friend Joe came second, dressed as a panda
9. Looks like a Maplins type case? If these really are that much better than the WT550 which replaced them then they must be absolutely phenomenal coz the WT550 is my favourite amp ever
10.
I am very encouraged by your faith in your own product. However, my old dad used to say "never accept advise from someone who will profit by you taking it".
If Alex was saying "All other cabs are sh1t, buy this it's awesome" then I can understand your viewpoint, but fact is he will offer his advice for the best cab in his range to suit your needs, nothing more. He could have sold you a Big Twin T which is far more expensive, but he disn't, he is suggesting what he thinks is best for you FWIW I play in a loud function band and run a Super12T and absolutely love it. Small and light but a massive massive sound when needed. I have drowned out the entire band going through the PA with just a 200W amp and the S12, it's monstrous.
11.
Also be aware that the 450mm ones are actually only 236mm long. Just a heads up.
12. I think you get a better tone from black plectrums
13.
Mate you wouldn't BEELEEEEIVE the grief I was getting last night (see elsewhere) and I reckon a fair bit is actually down to the guitarists settings....hey ho
Ah yes, just be catching up on that. Bloody six stringers
14.
more bass in the 3 band or the graphic? Cheers!
LESS bass on both the three band but especially the graphic. Anything below 80Hz or so, don't boost, and anything below 50Hz I'd cut a smidgen.
15. Less bass, more low mid. Will cut the waffle but still give a huge low end
16. The Trace Boxer isn't in production anymore so it'd have to be a 2nd hand purchase
17. Or BC's own MikeyR is rather a dab hand at it, he's in York
18. Level probs as in too loud, Al? Never!
19.
Should really be stickied at the top of every thread in this forum
This
20. Into-the-final-24-hours-of-the-ebay-auction bump
21.
Good grief!!
Crack open a beer and watch this again
22. Traces always have to have their gain very high to get the orange light on, I had the same issue with an AH300-12 head when I had one. Never really bothered me - try chanigng the valve for something else and you may find that helps get the sound you want anyway (that's what I did!)
23. This is on eBay too, starting at £400
24. 2nd hand Trace rig and £500 for the second room is a winner. And yes, metal grilles are a must!
25. I would do Harke LH500 paired with a 4x10 cab of some form; no active EQ for eejits to overdo the bass frequencies but a dead simple, great sounding head.
