1. Interesting move that will please everyone on TB no end I'm on tenterhooks waiting for the announcement of the MB Fusion 800, apparently it WILL happen
2.
I've been so pleased with my MB200 that I've just invested in a Fusion 500. Now the waiting begins.
Good work Dave, you won't be disappointed methinks
3. The MB200 is an amazing amp; I have happily gigged mine (into uber sensitive Barefaced cabs) and drowned out the rest if the band Brilliant back up head and good enough to persuade me to swap my main amp from Eden to GK (MB Fusion, also a killer amp!)
4. Volume control position has nothing to do with the clean power output, and to think it does is unfortunately incorrect. There are a lot of threads relating to this, probably best to start with the "Sticky" about Gain, Power and Volume: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/3730-gain-power-and-volume-a-confusing-menage-a-trois/
5. Super 12T owner here, loving the 2x12 format I have to say. Previously mainly a 15s user but the reason for the change was only practical, sonically there's not much in it IMHO
6. Correction, the MB Fusion has THREE preamp tubes and real tube overdrive
7. Sorry sorry sorry Someone do these gigs, it'll be great!
8. Not being finicky at all, contact Thomann and get replacement(s)!
9. Bad driver sounds odd given the cab is fine with other amps. I reckon dodgy pot on the amp somewhere...?
10.
Is the peavey combo loud enough? If it is with 130W then I suspect 130W into a compact will be just as loud... Worth having a chat with Alex at Barefaced?
This.
11. Let me check my bank balance. Always wanted one of these
12.
Sorry guys but this is total bollocks!!!!! The 236 watts is processed and boosted to 450 watts or 750 watts. These amps are putting out their stated levels of volume. TC are some of the loudest amps into any cabs.
Watts aren't a stated volume level
13. I use my S12 with a GK MB Fusion, playing pop and rock covers. Sounds great and very versatile, plus more mids than you can shake a stick at.
14. TBH it bothers the band more than me I had a dream last night that I bought an LS2 and stuck the Unichorus in its own loop with the volume control on the LS2 balancing the levels. Seems a bit OTT...
15. Yeah I suspected the same re the hi mid boost, especially since it has become a lot more prominent since going to GK amps which seem to have a lot more mid presence than my old Eden. I may take a screwdriver to it and have a play then but I might just have to be sensible with my bass volume instead
16. Hello one and all and happy new year I have an interesting question; my EBS Unichorus is great but it seems to have a massive volume difference with clean vs effect, whereby effect is totally dominating the band mix. Is there a trim pot inside the pedal (black label) which I can lower the gain of the effected signal or do I just need to ride the volume control on my bass a bit? Cheers ears
17.
I often buy it, but the reviews are so 'back-hander', almost automated. I think they should invite a working bassist to co-review. Someone from basschat for instance! A different 'public opinion every month. I just find that it's almost like they copied and pasted the manufacturers press release.
At least one of their reviewers is BCer Mike Brooks who is very much a working pro bassist, and a top bloke to boot. That said however, I do agree that all the reviews seem to be (edited?) to give the reviewee a glowing report for free advertising!!
18. Bloody hell, such a shame RIP Pete, long may your basses be played and loved
19. What music are you playing and how loud is your band? I have an MB200 and have totally drowned out our drummer when going thru an uber-sensitive 2x12 or 2x15; conversely I did a gig with no PA support and a single 1x15 which was just not enough. For jazz gigs, no problem; for rock gigs with no PA support, I'd say no. My main head is the MB Fusion btw, which I bought after loving the MB200 so much
