1. Alien made one for Froilan (s_u_y*) about 3 years ago
2. Is he deaf too, Alex? I'd expect so sitting that close to those two cabs
3.
Another one for our little black book Merton.
Haha! I have now decided I no longer have Streamliner GAS coz I'm waiting on the MB500 to show up later this week. It'll last, oooh, about a week, two tops
4. Cheers fellas! It is a great great amp and part of me thinks I was a bit hasty in buying the replacement but I am at a place where the core tone of the MB heads is suiting me a it better despite this being possibly my favourite amp tone out-of-the-box ever... (Gotta love alcohol!) Chris_B asked a question on PM which I'll expand on here, my original post might be a bit vague about age and origin. This is a US made head, I can only guess that the boards were batch-produced (I know Trace used to do this) in 1997 and then final assembly took place in Montrose in 2004.
5. Good morning! I love this bass amp, and for the last year I've been telling everyone it's the best bass amp I've ever used. Recently though I've been noticing that I prefer the tone of the GK MB200 I have as a back up and last night I (possibly drunkenly....) decided to get the bigger brother of that and sell this. Will I regret it? Pissobly. But here we go... This is dated 2004,though some of the boards inside go back to 1997 IIRC, built in the US of A. Around 300W at 8 ohms, 500W at 4 ohms and 620W at 2 ohms (I've never run it at 2 ohms). It really is a great amp,I tend to run it completely flat and use the EQ to tweak slightly for the room. It lets your playing really shine through, subtle changes of style really do result in a noticeable difference out of your speakers, the tone of the amp doesn't mask it at all. It's in great condition, as the pics show, the only issue I'd say is the volume pot is a bit crackly and I haven't gotten around to buying some contact cleaner to sort it out. Features include switchable compressor, 5 band semi-parametric EQ, Eden's Enhance control, DI, FX loop, Aux In, and of course a single 12AX7 in the preamp. Price is £400 plus shipping to the UK mainland, flightcase not included. Now sold, thanks all.
6.
Sorry. But it does sound very nice. Just sayin'.
Oi
7.
Transients add to my enjoyment and make me play better... that's part of the reason I couldn't get on with the RH450.
The more I read your comments on the RH450 and your amp preferences the more I think I need a Streamliner. Stop it
8. Yes please, I'll have it, I'm just down the road in Redhill
9. Unfortunately forum rules mean you need to state a price... You can't win, haha! I wouldn't know where to start with a price guide tho, sorry. Good luck selling
10.
Wait, do Trace even still exist?
Er..... www.trace-elliot.co.uk
11.
Look like a nice rig to me... I'd be tempted to play that until you find it s shortcomings.....and I doubt a combo will outperform it without an etn cab anyway tbh. Keep it, would be my advice. unless it is so heavy and unmanageable beyond belief..
This. The Trace is late 80's/early 90's but in bloody good shape. I'd keep what you have and consider another cab if required
12. Closest I can think of is the GK MB200, sounds a bit Trace-y to me. Trace certainly don't do one though I reckon they should!
13. Used to have that exact rig! I also had the 1x15 combo and 4x8 cab (REALLY regret selling that!) so I could do 1x15, 2x15, 4x8, 8x8 or 1x15 and 4x8
14. Yeah sometimes a bit too wide and I fell in love with the S12 last week. Not at all unhappy with the Vintage tho - it's just a flight of fancy!
15. I love my Barefaced Vintage, but sometimes it's just that little bit too big for the stages I play. I also love the Super 12. So I figured if anyone wanted a straight swap then i'd be interested. Preferably one without a tweeter and preferably in silver cloth grille form but I'm not picky Nothing else will interest me I'm afraid so don't ask And for those who don't know what the Vintage is, it's the precursor to the Super 15 and looks like this... 7/11/11 edit: SOLD, thanks
16. Yes, Cass Lewis. Nuff said. Actually, will add Eddie Jackson, Hugh McDonald and Colin Greenwood
17. There was a distinct lack of hard work from me glad it went OK tho
