I've got a Trace Elliott V type preamp but I don't like the sound of Trace Elliott.
If you don't like it I'll have it....
 2.
Running them in series will work with any amp, but be prepared for them to sound significantly quieter than one cab on its own
why? More air being moved.....
 3.
Ab - 4th fret 'E' string. Lovely sound. Not G# though, that would just be wrong...
4.
He's still with us.
Good news, cheers!
 5. Brilliant Lee, that's why everyone raves Keep up the good work!
 6. Feel bad I haven't kept up to speed with Chi Cheng, is he still with us and still battling?
 7. Status necks are not tinny and characterless! Not played a Kingbass tho...
 8.
Hi all! Here's a few clips from a gig I did last night. (snip)
Sounds great. Damn you P.S. Nice playing too
 9. Here we go, my home practice rig: Yes, that's a little hifi speaker. Sounds ok at home practice volume. Win
 10. Will respond when I can get on my laptop and get screenshots for you
 11. My Eden is a lot quieter than my old Trace AH300-12, no hiss that I've noticed at all. DI is squeaky clean too.
 12. I guess you're wanting to sell as a whole rather than split, Peter? Something rather alluring about those cabs....
 13. Older Edens had jack or banana plugs, newer ones from around 2000ish (i think) have speakons and jacks. Personally I'm an Eden man- slight hint of Enhance (not even 1/5 of the movement) but otherwise flat save for tiny room tweaks. Loud, clear and a lot of balls
 14.
Seems a fair point to me. I had a TC amp for a while, the Classic 450. Used to use it at 3/4 on volume for gigs. If that was only using 100ish watts, well they were loud watts then!
The position of the volume control has no bearing on output power rating
I think it would only really be a problem f people were buying the gear and finding it hideously under-powered. At that point, the claims would be detrimental, but as said, if all the owners of the gear are happy with it, no fuss.
Indeed, the fuss is more about TC apparently lying in their marketing blurb, which I can understand, however ultimately if it works for someone then great
 15. Like their heads, especially the valve jobbies, but increasingly found myself knob twiddling in my on my old GP12 head so went for a more basic preamplifier and have now ended up with Eden which I am much happier with. the old cabs, I agree with whynot, they weren't too hot. Funnily enough the new 1518 is actually in my top 3 1x15s, it works brilliantly with an LH500 Horses for courses definitely. They have a soft spot in my heart as I grew up using them but I think there's better out there now and certainly more user-friendly preamps. EDIT: I could start a thread saying I hate Ampeg because I can't stand them, but I won't
 16. Think we're singing from the same hymn sheet here
 17.
There are two distinct camps on this issue at TB. One (which I subscribe to) says that lying about the power ratings of their amps is just plain wrong. The other, which is typified by responses like yours, says that as long as it sounds good we don't care if they are advertising fraudulent power ratings. Consider that attitude the next time you go to the petrol pump that may, or may not, be giving you every liter you've paid for.
Sorry Bill, I wasn't referring to TC lying, I was referring the slightly bemusing responses of people basing amp tone on spec rather than tone. Totally agree with you that lying about a spec is fraudulent, but ultimately the reaction of some people seems to suggest the amp is a less worthy tone monster now and it's laughable.
 18.
.... anyway, Alex, please design your amp to support 2 ohm loads. Thanks.
Haha! About to respond to your PM sir As for this thread, what a lot of nonsense. Who gives a f*** what the rating is as long as it sounds good to the person using it. And the audience, I guess
 19.
If you look up lil jim's big squeeze on facebook, we're releasing cheatin n creepin on Sunday and it's available for download free for a week I think, I used it on that. I don't have a set up at home that let's me record amps though so it's only releases that I use my Gks on.
Cheers bud!
 20. We should swap, I'd prefer the narrower form factor Ashdown makes sense, bet the whole thing sounds immense.
 21.
Just scored the MB Fusion in the Amps for sale forum! Happy days! (Sorry Merton)
Nah, it's a good thing, I've got 2 great amps and I'd get murdered if I bought this! Let us know how you get along with it though
 22.
Move out out of the way everyone, this is mine!
Thanks, you saved me from an expensive story to the missus
