1.
I just noticed the reference to the "7 band semi parametric EQ". Don't the people who write this stuff actually look at the pictures of what they're describing, or is that they just don't know what a 7 band semi parametric EQ looks like? Actually I think the same description was given on the LG as well.
Indeed, it was wrong for the LG and it's wrong now... Ah well. These things are about the same size as the GK MB200, yet pack in more power (in the 550W silver guise at least). I wonder if they'll sound as good...
2. Love both (just got me an MB200) but they have very different core tones
3. Mine arrived today, utterly love it already
4.
Not really in these specific circumstances... the handling @ 4 Ohms is apparently 400W, push 500W (the amp's rated output into 4 Ohms) into that and 3 things will happen very quickly:

The speaker cone will go beyond its maximum excursion and permanently crease and disfigure. You will be aware of this by the buzzing, farty noise it starts to make.
The speaker coil will melt. You will hear nasty crackling noises and a very reduced volume.
Smoke will start to escape from the amp as the output transformer drives into a load it can't handle. Silence will soon follow.
Best avoided! ficelles
Bollocks, unless you push everything too hard.
5. For anyone who is interested in these, Russ is a top dude to do business with
6. Most intriguing... Looks tiny. Still, not gonna sway me from my MB200 which is but a few days away I'm told
7. Looks like one which has failed to sell on ebay over the last few months
8. My first bass was the Stage Series Jazz, still got it, though the PUps are replaced with Schallers. I also have an exact copy of this one but it's in pieces whilst I find the time to do something with it. I have a decent solid wood body from a (70s?) Kay P copy which I am hoping to attach tot eh Vester's neck (the Kay's neck is more like a banana) but the pair of them have been disassembled for nigh on 3 years now..... Not a bad find for £25, even with the pylwood body! A decent set up (and poss a swap of the PUps and pots) and you have a decent sounding and playing bass for not much
9. I have this on my iPad and it's great! Perfect for "silent" home song learning Gonna start taking it to lessons as well (with little powered speaker thing), instead of lugging an amp around.
10. I have a spare Hiscox liteflite case which has been fine on flights before. Junction 8 M25 if you want to borrow it
11. Here's my latest addition to the fold: Gotta say, I love it! It's not had any gig or rehearsal time yet but just from home noodling and taking it to lessons as my teaching bass yesterday, it feels fantastic. Couldn't resist when I saw it on fleabay...
12.
Just for a bit of balance, i had one (the old carpet covered 100 watter) and really didn't like it! Decent enough for the money but the sound wasn't to my taste and it never seemed capable of delivering volume without being pushed too hard. Eventually crapped out and wouldn't stop blowing fuses so i swapped it for a black Big Muff. I tried one of the later ones at a gig and that actully seemed quiter

For more balance, my first combo was a Commando 15. Sound was good on it's own, but i found it was totally lost in a band setting. Got a Peavey 115 after that, found it miles better in a gigging situation.
The 150W I found to be more punchy than the 100W version i still have, but I would agree that the 100W ones certainly lacked enough oomph for anything but the quietest of gigs. They still sound nice though (IMO, at volumes before breakup )
13. Lovely sounding combo I have the original 100W version, love it!
14.
The MB112 combo was available from Thomann but last time I looked they'd sold out. Gear4Music, look like they've got them for £30 more
Aye, that be the combo, not the cab Soundslive expect more MB200 heads in 4-5 weeks. So my wait continues
15.
I got mine from Soundslive a couple of days after ordering.
Cheers, will have a look! Re. the MB112, if you're referring to the cab it's not happening now apparently, so say Polar....
16. I've had an MB200 on order since December, hoping it'll arrive soon, even more so hearing your report Thom
17. Ooh, found it. Is it getting good reviews on TB then? Looks like their answer to things like the Big One and fEarful type designs which are springing up
18. I've halved my stored stuff, still embarrassingly high at around 20MB but from now on I'll stick everything on my band's site and link from there
19.
Mmmm guess not
No idea what it is... Linky? Intrigued, certainly
20. Get a second 1153, that will sound monster. And be smaller
21. Just sold Paul my old beaten up Groove bass, 'twas a pleasure. Cheers Paul, enjoy the bass
