1. Hehe, I was just rising to your bait
2.
Wait, do Trace even still exist?
Er..... www.trace-elliot.co.uk
3.
Look like a nice rig to me... I'd be tempted to play that until you find it s shortcomings.....and I doubt a combo will outperform it without an etn cab anyway tbh. Keep it, would be my advice. unless it is so heavy and unmanageable beyond belief..
This. The Trace is late 80's/early 90's but in bloody good shape. I'd keep what you have and consider another cab if required
4. Closest I can think of is the GK MB200, sounds a bit Trace-y to me. Trace certainly don't do one though I reckon they should!
5. Used to have that exact rig! I also had the 1x15 combo and 4x8 cab (REALLY regret selling that!) so I could do 1x15, 2x15, 4x8, 8x8 or 1x15 and 4x8
6. Yeah sometimes a bit too wide and I fell in love with the S12 last week. Not at all unhappy with the Vintage tho - it's just a flight of fancy!
7. I love my Barefaced Vintage, but sometimes it's just that little bit too big for the stages I play. I also love the Super 12. So I figured if anyone wanted a straight swap then i'd be interested. Preferably one without a tweeter and preferably in silver cloth grille form but I'm not picky Nothing else will interest me I'm afraid so don't ask And for those who don't know what the Vintage is, it's the precursor to the Super 15 and looks like this... 7/11/11 edit: SOLD, thanks
8. Yes, Cass Lewis. Nuff said. Actually, will add Eddie Jackson, Hugh McDonald and Colin Greenwood
9. There was a distinct lack of hard work from me glad it went OK tho
10. Love them. I have a USA built WT550 which was built around the time of the US Music takeover so hopefully hasn't been a victim of the cost cutting etc. It certainly seems well built and sounds bloddy great. jhk's rig sounded sweeeeet on Saturday at the Bash
11.
Me with a Status, the shame
It's probably the strap height you should be more worried about... Sorry about that, it's coz I'm a short arse
12.
Here's my rig from the day! Edit - The Barefaced cab isn't mine, it belongs to Alex (the man behind them).
Ther eisn't a man behind them, just two bass cases...
13.
Another excellent Bassbash. I had a great time, as did Paul the Drums, and a special thank you to Merton ... he knows why.
No problem sir! Let me know how you get on with it Was a great day, really enjoyed catching up with people, hearing Mr Claber's fantastic plans for the future, playing some great gear (LOVE the Super 12!) and learning more about myself as a player and wehre I need to focus my attention (er, everywhere...) Well done Nik and Colin for organising and well done everyone for turning up and contributing
14.
Currently breaking in a Midget T, Compact, Super Twelve T and Big Twin T, which are all coming subject to fitting in the car!
Excellent! Need to try me er, all of those except the Compact
15.
Probably bringing my old Status S1 fiver, looking to sell it for about £350, plenty of mojo but plays well, will advertise it properly later but if you're at the bash and interested come and have a play!
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Don't tempt me with more Statusey goodness!
16. To be even more boring R is commonly used instead of Omega (the Greek symbol) for ohms. Ohms, in this case, being the impedance
17. When could you possibly need more output than an S12 on its own?!!
18.
Another odd request, will someone be able to give me a hand unloading? My back is f***ed,
I will, coz I'm a nice person. If, and only if, you promise that you will actually be bringing an Arsenal shirt of course
19. Ooooooooooooooooooohhhweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Getting closer
20.
Mr Neepheid, How does this sound to you.....a single cab with 2 x 15" neo speakers, 800W RMS, 4 Ohms, dimensions H17" x W 24" x D 18", complete with one cover to keep it all snuggly warm and clean, weighing only ........wait for it........only 41lbs (<20kgs)! 1 owner from new, low mileage, weekend use mainly etc etc etc and within your budget If you want to give it a try with your amp just drop me a PM with your number and we can arrange a time etc. Mike
What cab is that?!
21. No longer able to bring my rig, sorry for anyone wanting to see the Vintage (....tumbleweed....). The GK MB200 will be there though
22. Good man See ya next week, can't wait to try your S12
23.
Oh yeah, don't know why I didn't think of that! But the amp's 500W, so wouldn't I run the risk of blowing the cab?
Just be sensible with the volume... If it sounds bad turn down
I had a quick look on GAK, couldn't see any small cabs for sale. Also went on the Bass Centre but they don't seem to be selling amps anymore?
Bass Centre seems to have gone a bit... odd. For a little uni practice cab I'd be tempted by the Eden ENX110 or 112. Only around £200 new and would do the job without shelling out loads.
24. The GB amp isn't exactly big, just get a small 1x10 or 1x12 cab to take with you as well as that
