1. I bought some strings, paid Russ, he sent them out first class straight after the bank holiday weekend. Nice and easy! Cheers
  2. BUMP. Nemesis sold pending payment, Peavey still here and I'll do it £160 delivered with the rack case or £140 delivered without
  3. That's a bargain, I just snapped one up for £475 plus the shipping which I sorted myself. Shall I get a back up?

  6. Bump for some more pics. Nemesis in rack: Nemesis not in rack: Peavey in rackbag: Rackbag with Peavey is an extra £20, rack with the Nemesis is included free as it's a bit ropey (I've kept the Nemesis in a flightcase which is staying with me) but if you don't want it I'll not send it! Cheers, Mert
  7. Mikey has been hard at work this weekend. He made the neck pocket jig: Then he put the neck IN the neck pocket. Seems obvious really The fit is so tight the neck and body stay as one through friction alone. That's pretty accurate if you ask me Back view showing oversized headstock, to be cut to size in time The front, showing the bit of lower horn still to be cut out. This was left in while routing the neck pocket to give support to my rather heavy router. This will look way cooler when the paper is off the fingerboard, but Mikey's leaving it on as there's still some evidence of a centre line drawn on. Getting there - there's still a bit of shadow at the join, which means the neck is not quite touching the body over the whole length of the pocket. Not sure I know how Mikey will sort that, but I guess he does Even more excited than last time, especially as I will have an exciting new Eden head to play it through
  8. Now revised, back (with a bump) to the top. Buy buy buy!
  9.
I am reluctantly putting this very versatile compact amp up for sale (runs at 8, 4 or 2 ohms) Mainly used as a back up, it is 6 years old, has been well looked after and serviced regularly, the only blemish is the tiniest of scratches on the front as can be seen in the pics. Collection preferred from Preston Lancs, or could possibly meet up on motorway network. Looking for £475, no trades thanks.
I like the look of this! What if i paid for a courier?
  10. I want a Super Twelve AND a Big Twin I'm 30 next month, wonder if Nic would mind...
  11.
I really shouldn't go looking at Alex's designs. I just end up wanting one of each.
Ain't that the truth! Still pondering a way of affording one of these...
  12.
Gone. Thanks.
Ta
  13.
+1 on Kylie's Fever tour - some killing bass lines there esp Kids Are Alright, Love At First Sight and Come Into My World Open Letter To A Landlord - Living Colour Seal - Self titled album (Doug Wimbish ripping the book up on that one) Some Lisa Stansfield stuff is good and pretty much anything with Paul Young and Pino on No Parlez
Yes.
I've always thought this was a fine Pop bassline
Yes.
  14. The speaker lead will have nothing to do with the amp's ability to drive the valves. (But using an instrument lead is a Bad Idea so good that you're sorting this quickly!) Likewise the 2x 9V batteries has no bearing on the actual output level of the bass. (I know this coz my passive Vester Jazz has a hotter output than my 18V active Status). Therefore more experimentation needed with the LB methinks! Use the Low input, crank th ebass and the mids. Good luck
  15.
Get yourself an old Trace 1518, that's what I used the combo with. An incredible combination and you can pick them up on Ebay for around the £100 mark if you are patient.
+1, or a 1153. Either which way a second 15" will just destroy walls with that combo and you can use the treble control to dial any hi freqs in - you don't need 10s for top end
  16. That is one sexy mofo of a bass. Can I have it for Christmas?

Terrible news, I am a lucky one to have met Si and spent hours discussing websites via PM on here, he was always an absolute gent and a funny dude to boot. Will miss him greatly. RIP Si, my thoughts are with your family and friends
  18. Series 6 GP12 AH200 for £150? Go for it, it *should* be bombproof and if you don'tlike you can sell for the same you paid on fleabay
  19.
is it the ABM series?
Yes. Veritable bargain methinks
  20.
didnt sound like a Trace either which was odd
Not odd, they've designed the new range so it has the classic "sound" there should you want it but they are meant to be a lot more versatile than before. I wonder if it's the US models which are unreliable and the old UK models which are good...
  21.
It's a 600. I know they've moved factories from UK to US because of problems.
If it's a 600 it's almost definitely a US-made one. I'm guessing they do them at the Peavey factory.
  22.

Well I definitely want your V6 now, you clearly don't need it Nice collection dude
  23.
Newer shots:
BOTH of them??? You utter, utter git How do they compare? (And can I have the V6 when you're done with it please? )
  24.
Not to be extra cynical....but does anyway care about the name of a covers band? lol They're all awful....so pick anything and run with it Si (I can say all this because I'm in a very busy covers band with a very generic name....it makes no difference)
+1 My function band has a dead cheesey name - Back in the Day. Why? Coz we play songs from... Bloody awful. But it doesn't stop us getting lots of gigs!
  25.
Have had it for quite a while now! Its the only cab i use and will probably ever use! Never had a problem with the replaced one. It is sturdy enough for gigging and soundwise is exactly what i am looking for! Props to Alex for a quality product.
Sounds like mine - it gets properly abused by our crew in and out of gigs and hasn't got a scar to show for it.
