Got it! That 1x15 ain't a Trace cab, it has at least 3 circular ports. Trace only ever did slot ports or 2 circular ports. Be wary of that cab methinks...
Another amp I've been looking at buying instead of the Hartke one. All good, no damage (superficial or internal). How much would you say it's worth?
That rig looks to be a 2x10 combo which has been split into head + cab. The 1x15 cab looks a little odd too but I can't quite put my finger on it... it just seems to be an "in between" of their small and large 1x15 cabs. Someone else may recognise it better than me tho

Got a lovely 4-pole to 2-pole Speakon from Dave last week for my "back up" rig (a V-Type pre into a QSC power amp, lovely 800W back up!!) and as ever was very very happy with the speed and quality. Cheers Dave

What an annoying "feature". I much preferred the "soft start" of the LH500. Ah well.
-
Cheers Ste! I think I'll just turn it on without having the cab plugged in, saves the thump
-
This is primarily aimed at those of you who own/have previously owned an Eden Nemesis head (pref the blue NA320 or NA650 models) - does yours make your speakers thump when switching on and off? Mine does, worryingly loud at that, and I want to know if it needs a quick bit of TLC/attention?

£2.50 - i'll have it

Not sure on value thesedays but it is just a single preamp valve and I think you'd probably not enjoy it vs the Ampeg (if you like the Ampeg sound, that is.) It's amazingly versatile but still doens't do the big all valve preamp thing...

See, this "subliminal" advertising works Thanks again Rick!

Just sold my LH500 to Rick and it was dead easy, he is a gent and was patient and veryhelpful when needed. Cheers Rick! Now, buy my rackbag...

Well, it's been a while. Lots going on in the background for both me and Mikey hence this has taken somewhat of a backseat. Until now. Last night Mikey sent me this:
Maybe this will cheer you up - Gluing up the scarf joint. Remember we were taking about the thin fillet of walnut? Should look nice when we carve the volute! Things are happening! Finally!
Hooray! I miss the prototype loads so am dead excited to see the work start again on my one.

Eden was bought out by US Music in 2002 and since then they've been slowly ruining the brand if you believe everything over at TB. I have a 2006 Nemesis head and it's fantastic so can't really comment, though I do know the QC and customer service have been left a little "loose" over the last few years. That's probably what all the fuss is about...
hey bud ^^^ unless I'm missing stuff or having another senior moment...these cabs are the top end of Trace Elliot 4x10! andy
Yes and no. This particular model is two-a-penny all over the country I'm afraid, and was built at a time when the QC started going (albeit slowly) downhill. If I had a Trace 4x10 it's be one of the really old ones or brand new 2010 models. -
Trace Elliot V-Type 600 Valve/MOSFET Rig
Have to disagree with that view. The 1048h is a phenomenal cab and as far as I recall its 800watt. Last one I saw sold for £400 - not in same condition nor flight cased. The flight cases obviously add value to the rig as well. As far as the head goes, inc. flightcase, it surpasses the equivalent Ampeg SVT3 pro of which commands an rrp of around £1k and sells s/h for around £500. A value of around £600 would be about right for the head in my view and experience of course. It is a phenomenal rig in pristine condition with flight cases, an asking price of £1k would not be ridiculous nor outwith the realms of fairness considering the quality, tone and sheer power and...the flight cases on their own must be worth on the region of £300 s/h. good luck andy
I understand re. the flightcases (keep forgetting about them), but that cab is 320W, it's a mid 90's model and quite frankly not worth more than £200 on its own. Anyone who pays more for one is a mug IMO. This rig is an exceptional example, pristine condition and the flightcases do help, but even so that cab is the "bog standard" Trace cab of the era. The head is another matter entirely, quite a rare beast but still not as rare as the all valve beasts I'm afraid. It's a solid state power amp remember... I'd say for a quick sale £600 min, but you could push to £800 with the right buyer. Just my opinion of course, and not wanting to detract from a fantastic rig -
I've just been advised by Andy on here with the V4 that I'm selling the rig too cheap so I'mn going to take advice before I sell it. Thanks Jon
Fair play. I think £400 is about right for the head, but given you have the flightcase as well you can go higher. The cab is spot on though IMO. -
Not with 2 outputs. Unless you modified your amp, of course. Or would it work if you used splitter leads? Could be an interesting theory for anyone wanting more cabs without forking out for a new amp.
You can daisy chain two cabs from each output, most have parallel connections on 'em

Trace Elliot V-Type 600 Valve/MOSFET Rig
Merton replied to jonnyfastfingers's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I bought this rig complete with flightcases about six years ago for just short of £600 and haven't seen many about so the easy option for me is to put it on ebay and then it goes for what people want people think it's worth. I guess if it came to it I'd be looking for about £200 for the cab and £400 for the amp, as that's about what I paid for it and I've since had it serviced and new pre-amp tubes fitted. Ideally I'd like to sell the rig complete. Do people think that's a fair price or not?
Yep! Cheers -
Anyone fancy making me an offer before this goes on Ebay? Any trades or offers considered.
If you want to sell you must state a price or the ad gets pulled. You have been told twice already and loads of us have been interested to know what you want for it! Inviting offers makes this a free ebay and that's not part of the allowables i'm afraid! -
That rig will be plenty loud enough, and 500w won't seem that much louder. Try it, you'll like it

Tragic news, my thoughts are you and his family

Bought Chris's V-Type preamp, couldn't have been a simpler transaction. Very happy indeed, cheers Chris! Can't wait to fire this baby up on Sunday
