Still a ceramic magnet but the cab is just effortlessly light in comparison to the old f**k-heavy Trace gear (still not bareface[b]dB[/b]ass light of course...) Plus the sound is better (IMO) too. Deeper, fuller, less "barky" but very in-you-face still. I like muchly!

Yup, Tom is a top fella. Had a couple of mini chats with him over at TB, he comes across as a good guy with a lot of bass gear!!

So much more bottom end than the old style 1518s, it's going to be brilliant when I get to crank it at a gig. It's a really smooth sound in comparison to the V-Type combo's cab so will take a while to get used to the lack of 100Hz but it will sit really really nicely in the mix either on its own or with the 4x8 cab (hehe, cheers for the advice on that one!) Glad you're liking the first impressions of the V-Type

Just traded my V-Type combo for Pete's Trace 1518 cab. Winners all round! Pete and Terri are both lovely peeps and it was quite simply a pleasure. Cheers, hopefully catch you guys again soon

Here's my updated rig: [attachment=19200:DSC00241.JPG] Hartke LH500 Trace 4808 V-Type cab Trace 1518 Only tried it at bedroom levels but it sounds awesome. The 1518 goes so much deeper than the older Trace 15s. Nice!

Mike is the proper dude, he's such a nice fella. When he still ran the Bass Merchant I bought a Trace cab off him, he took me into the workshop and showed me every single bass in production, going over all the intricate details of each one. Didn;t need to, I didn't even ask, but he did it as part of the experience. It was awesome
