Im so glad you posted that WoT, Its subdued my wonderment somewhat! The tone you get with your jazz is pretty much what im aiming for - deep and rich, with just a hint of a snarly overtone. Lovely. 2 daysss!
Oh you are going to be so happy! I reckon we go for similar sounding rigs, knowing what you've had in the past. The Vintage is the dog's danglies, hell yes.
I would say roughly £400-450 for the whole rig.
Yep, sounds about right to me
I cant wait to post in this thread again soon....
Looking forward to seeing your new rig
Conversely, I'm planning on never having to post in this thread again S.P.
Me too. I give it a year before there's a different amp (or at least a "backup" amp) with me though, I am fickle and I want an Eden Nemesis again.

Lightweight gear moving (on its own) on stage
Merton replied to onehappybunny's topic in Amps and Cabs
A well-engineered cab won't move, as it'll have bracing inside to stop all the internal resonances which would otherwaise make it wander about As for the lightweight head, use velcro/blu-tac/glue/the drummer as you see fit. -
Well, I think I'm the only one with a Barefaced Vintage and my LH500 will be in the car anyway for a gig that night, so it can come in if necessary or stay out if not. I reckon it'll probably come in and sit on top of the Vintage tho

Well finally had a chance to check my cover (it arrived this morning) and it fits perfectly... So maybes I have the odd one out?
-
Recieved my cover today, very good fit but the side handle slots do not line up
Mine is waiting for me at home so will check mine tonight. As I asked early (and Owain has subsequently) - where are your handles? If you gave Roqsolid you own measurements then it's confusing, if you used my measurements then there's something generally different about yours and Owain's cabs!!

	Best get ordering this... whoop!
I'm going to check out the Barefaced 412 and see what thats like, and at 30lbs, that sounds like it'll be a bit more handy. My guitarist will still have to help me lift it though =(
There's been a misunderstanding somewhere dude - the Barefaced Compact is a 1x15, not a 4x12.... It's the best 1x15 you can buy (IMHO) And no, I don't own one. I one the Vintage, which is two Compacts stuck together in one bigger box
I ordered my vintage cover on 25th aug, still do not have it!! they said it must have got lost in post, so they say they will send another, which was three days ago so still waiting. hope it comes soon, they seem very helpful, but....
Mine dispatched yesterday, so with a bit of luck it'll be at home when I get back later on.... EDIT: did you double check your handle positions? If they match mine you're ok but if they match Owain's then you may have a slight ismatch on your hands...

what bass horns DID trace elliot use prior to peavey buyout?
Merton replied to basscantdothat's topic in Amps and Cabs
Celestion custom made speakers from Trace from about 1988 I think, so you'd be hard pushed to find exact models thesedays. The 5" mid driver, I know nothing about, but the '90s HF horns were all Fostex I beleive (and bloody awful IMO!) The Peavey stuff is really good - the speaker cabs are the best Trace cabs I've heard (again, my opinion only). -
Nice! Yours seems to have arrived quicker than mine despite being ordered afterwards... still no sign of my one
The new line is superb. They are LOUD and very tight in sound. A little bit more distinctive that the cabs from the ealry years...but 100% Trace again.
+1. Of all the Trace cabs I've played, the new line are easily the best IMO. Lighter, deeper, louder, smoother. Lovely!

 Trace Elliot V-Type 4x8 Combo..SOLD SOLD SOLD
Merton replied to overwater#1's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
A fine fine combo, this. Needs a forklift to move it, mind... Plus Matt is a fine person to deal with (for those who don't know, I sold him this combo about a year ago...) EDIT: a few more specs to help Matt out: 280W RMS into 4 ohms, Bipolar Bear power board 2 valve preamp with passive "Fender" tone stack like the LH500/LH1000 sports, though the TE version has a couple of extras (deep switch and mid shift) 4x8" Celestion speakers (8 ohm load) About 3 tonnes (Kidding. IIRC it's 6.5 stone) Green -
It might be an idea if we could get a set of the standard measurements for each cab up on here. At least then people could see if they have a freak cab. Merton and I have compared measurements on our Vintages and discovered that my side handles are 1.5 cm higher than his -- who's got the freak? If it's Merton (whose measurements Roqsolid have used), then anyone who orders from them without checking the measurements might be in for a surprise when the holes for the side handles are half an inch out! Of course, if it's me, I'm used to being a freak.
Be interesting to find out.... Still hoping the cover will arrive today or tomorrow but I think it's unlikely. I hope all my measurements were right (I did treble check after Owain's message....).
I'm gonna bring a high-class escort like I did to my school reunion. That and the rented Porsche.
Good work.

I want another baby sister to Alex's bass too... Oh for the money This looks great!
-
+1 - I might just bring a few basses.
It is looking that way isn't it... But I think I'm the only one bringing a Vintage so I'm still gonna bring it, especially to repeat last year's ear bleeding experiment
Oh and stear clear of Feedme Music they are a bunch of utter c**ts.
Hell yeah, though for some reason the singer in my originals band seems to think they're worthwhile gigs. Us paying £240 to play to no-one on a Thursday night, worthwhile? F**k off! It's much easier doing smaller gigs where it's free to get in (or very cheap) and where there is no obligation to sell x number of tickets. Avoid London, head further out....
Hey everyone, I was supposed to be out of the country for this one, but thats looking increasingly unlikely - can I tentatively add my name to the list? I'll bring along the Shuker course blue P bass. Is anyone planning on getting the train in from Essex?
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. PM'd
Special composite plywood - slightly stiffer but substantially lighter! Alex
How can you make the Vintage lighter?! Impressive work
