  1. You won’t get earth-shattering, gut-wrenching lows from a single One10 but if the band is sensible with volume levels it will be fine for a monitor. I’ve used a single One10 for gigs with a quiet band in all sorts of situations without PA support and it’s been fine. I’ve used two One10s in a stack at rehearsal and gig (with PA support) with sensible and not-so-sensible bands, and they’ve been fine - amp either an Ashdown RM800 or Glock Blue Rock. The change to a single Two10 was interesting. It’s ultimately identical, give or take, to a pair of One10s, so the scenario above still stands, but I’ve come to find I prefer it as a stand alone cab over a single One10. It’s not that big or heavy, and the second drive just makes everything a bit … “more better”. I originally planned to keep a One10 for one band and bijou rehearsals/gigs but decided pretty quickly that there wasn’t a huge benefit in doing so… I’ve actually ended up getting a second Two10 because one of my bands is very loud (mainly the drummist) and we don’t put bass in the PA, so I decided it would be fun to destroy walls.
  2. Great amp. Loud, clean (or dirty), effortless power, silent fan. Marvellous things
  3. I would say so, depending on the sensitivity of your cabs
  4. These are great. I regret selling mine as I’ve never quite managed to ape it on the HX Effects I now use
  5. Not sure human/amplifier mating is to be encouraged 😄
  6. Because I could/wanted something else/thought it would make me sound better/thought it would look cool* *delete as applicable
  7. I’ve gigged mine, without PA support, in a loud rock band and been blown away by it. It may not have crushing low lows but it sounds like a bass guitar and it sounds good. Impressive little beasties
  8. Turns out I’ve played this game before, so here’s the full list (I think) with the ones in bold still owned. 9. Not playing this game, the list would take me an hour to write 🤓
  10. OK I'll play, my list is comparatively short when only looking at the brands In no particular order, and in bold if I still own... Vester Fender Dean Status ACG Zoot Conway Ibanez Harley Benton
  11. Those Damn Crows (second time in a week) at Pryzm in Kingston tomorrow, with MiniMert. Tis is an "intimate" album launch show -last week they hit no. 3 in the album charts and headlined Swansea Arena so this may be the last small gig they play for a while. The London gig last Friday was ace, I expect the energy tomorrow night will be off the charts.
  12. Absolutely agree - always things to learn! It was watching some videos which made me realise I got it quite wrong yesterday 🙃
  13. Oh you evil man 😃 I think I’ve seen you playing through this at Pippfest a few years ago? It sounded amazing.
  14. Venue-provided! That Trace head has well and truly quelled my bass amp GAS, even with @silverfoxnik flogging his Handbox R400!
  15. That’s the only rig pic from last night I’m afraid. I’ll find the link to the original build thread 🤓 EDIT - build diary here
  16. That’s my Zoot Funkmeister 😎
  17. Wicked little gig at Pizza Express Live (Holborn) for the first “Nashville Meets London” gig of 2023. A packed house, Katy’s fan base right at the front singing along to every word, great sound onstage, brilliant fun. Used the house Markbass CMD102P (I think?) and was pleasantly surprised. A few vocal bits for me to brush up on, plus my stage presence game was sorely lacking for some reason yesterday, but all in all a great fun evening 😎 https://www.katyhurt.com
  18. Has anyone mentioned Victor Wooten? (If so, I wholeheartedly concur!) He would be amazing!
  19. Whaaaaaat! Didn’t think I’d see you flog this! What are you getting instead? 🤓
  20. Thoroughly enjoyed that! Another vote for both Doug Wimbish and Cass Lewis - I feel people who have a decent history behind them will have some wonderful stories
  21. But what does “decent” mean? 🤓 To person A, decent means a flat response amp which faithfully recreates the bass and any effects/preamp tones. Hence a preamp is maybe part of that signal chain. To person B, decent means an amp with character to help define “their tone”. There will be person C, D, E etc with slightly different tonal goals too. I used to be person B. Now I’m closer to person A (maybe I can be person C?!) - my Trace TE-1200 is a stupendous amp which sounds amazing on its own but also takes whether I throw at it. I want a clean but ballsy tone? Amp only. Some grit through to a hairy mess? add a preamp in front of it.
  22. yes you do, yes you do, yes you do, yes you do, yes you do… helping? 😄
  23. Probably the cab. Put them with a decent cab (Berg, Barefaced, et al) and they are epic
  24. @Quilly I’d be inclined to save the money and use your Two10 in portrait orientation
