Found a good way to solve problem #2: Sell a pedal, take another one off the board so the PSU is only supplying 3 pedals now. Clever!! Problem #1 less sure I can do anything about if it's a dicky switch, it's all so tightly crammed I'd probably bugger the whole thing up. Did discover that the battery my colleague had put in was deader than lime green tank tops with orange shirts though. Not sure if that could have affected it...

You have to be able to play backwards for that Sorry, not helpful. I actually have no idea what equipment was used on that, really must watch the Classic Albums thing...

Just sold my EBS Octabass to Dave, dead quick and easy, thanks! Hope you enjoy the pedal

I'll keep offering this as another amp suggestion coz I think it is so bargainous: Hartke LH500 Mine turned up today, can't wait to plug it in!

Good to see it's arrived safely!

I wouldn't worry too much about power ratings - if the speakers don't like it you'll be able to hear! I'm going to be running the LH500 through a 240W 4x8 cab this weekend (8ohms, the LH500 produces about 350W at 8 ohms apparently) but as long as I'm careful with the volume and bass controls it'll all be fine

Have a look here - I've just got the LH500 (it arrived this morning). Can't wait to use it in anger tomorrow night

EBS Octabass pedal - the black version Bought this 2nd hand (but the previous owner had barely used it) about 5 years ago. I love it but following a thread on the FX forum I've decided to follow suit and cut my fx down to the two I use. No idea what to ask for this - I got it for £80. Is £50 + p&p too much? (EDIT): it's in good condition, not great but not bad at all for its age. It's boxed, but comes with NO power supply as I use a multi-supply for all my pedals. SOLD.
Thus we are all simply making wise investments. Alex
That's exactly how I sold it to my brain to persuade it to press "Buy"!
have you checked the power drain isn't drawing more than the adaptor can deliver?
In theory it isn't, but seeing rayfw's answer makes me think otherwise
It's the aliens, all disguised as bass players !! Have you managed to sus it out yet Mert? My guess would be that the original method of powering each unit is cleaner as I had a similar problem when I added one extra unit to my pedal board a while back and everything started to get noisier. Since then, I've simplified everything anyway but if your set up was working for you as was then I'd say you need to go back to that configuration and start from there. Can't offer any advice re: the BDDI I'm afraid as I have the electrical knowledge of a stone mason... Hope all's well otherwise Mert?
Haven't sussed it yet, going to try a different power source on the next gig and see what happens. All is good tho, 5 months in and counting! Looking forward to Xmas. How about you?
Even though the max your adaptor can deliver is 1A it may start to struggle to supply 9V at current draws below this. This could be leading to problem no 2.
Never thought it could be a problem but will try a different power supply and see... Cheers guys!

I think the word is "whoops". Just bought an LH500. Ah well
-
(In reference to my last post...) Whoops

And here's me thinking about pulling the trigger on the Hartke LH500, which can be cunningly stored in the function band's lock up for Nic to never know... Good luck! I got away with it earlier this year when buying a 4x8 Trace cab, so you never know your luck...
edit: If anyone has a history behind the V6 I'd be really interested.. ie the V4 and V8 are more obviously little/big brother with the 2 gain / compressor / half power options and a near-identical look, whereas the V6 seems a different beast altogether with none of those features and a completely different design. And if anyone has a PDF manual, it'd be appreciated as the TE website has a V4 and V8 manual, but no V6.
The V6 was the forerunner to the V4/V8. The initial V-Type range came out in about 1995 (I think) with an all-valve head (220W, sometimes called the V4), a hybrid combo (250W MOSFET - I have one and love it) and the standalone preamp. This range got revamped into the V6, 300H and 600H heads (V6 being all valve 400W, 300H and 600H being MOSFET power amps) plus the revised 1x15 combo and a 4x8 combo + ext cab. Then the "newer" V-Type range superseded that in about 1999 with the V4, V8 and the new V4 combos.

Santa!

Blimey - that's ridiculous!
Hate to say it but Coda Music have that beat - £319 + delivery. At worst you're looking at £15 delivery, so that's 33.5p/watt...
Schoolboy error mate, get the money first!
9 times out of 10 we do actually. Good point. F**k it, the wedding on the 21st of December is going ot get Rime of the Ancient Mariner, followed by some Rush or something
-
We don't do obscure songs, as we're there to get the wedding crowd/party crowd on the dancefloor. We'd love to play Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Maiden) or Overture (early Def Leppard) but we'd never get paid at the end of the gig.
