One of the Edge models has Bartolini pickups, maybe have a look at them as a replacement?
After Dave for Jools the guy on TV the most lately has to be the bass player in Dave Arch Orchestra that plays the toons on Strictly Come Dancing. Caught the occasional glimpse of what looks like an NS EUB and apart from that he wears a hat.
And I guess third or fourth on the "TV's Busiest" list would be Phil Mulford - doing X Factor at the mo again and nearly always doing other bits and bobs...

I reckon Trace will get their lightweight amp in the shops before this, and they still only exist as a rumour
Sometimes both the keys and guitarist will stop playing (the guitarist suddenly finds he needs to retune a squier strat that he actually tuned 2 songs ago with his electronic tuner) so its just the drums, the singers, the bass and percussion...

Sounds familiar. I'm in a four-piece, and every set the guitar will disappear at a random point for a random length of time.
Here too. Our rhythm guitarist/male singer does exactly that, at least once per gig, if not once per set. Normally on a song he needs to start to allow our lead guitarist to do the, er, lead bits. "You start this one, I've got to tune" "So where does the lead part go?" Oh, and he has a bloody music stand with lyrics, 5 years in...
MkIII: MkIV: MkV:
What a brilliant bit of Trace history! Anyone got any pics of MkI or MkII??
For those who love the green stuff:- I have been emailing TE to try and see if they would be producing a new 12" cab as I am look to replace my trace 15" with one & also asked if they had thought of a new BLX type product. I received the following in an email from them today "There are no plans to do a stand alone 12" cabinet, but we do have plans for some small lightweight but great sounding combos. Keep an eye on the website" Is it just me or does that sound like good news?
At long last! They should've done their relaunch with some groundbreaking lightweight stuff rather than miss the boat by 2 years, but better late than never eh! Keeping my eyes closely on this one, should be good
I went to pay for my bass on my credit card a week ago when the rate was 1.72 USD to GBP. My bank held the payment (to protect me against fraud) and by the time they've managed to call me to tell me, to "approve" this transaction the rate's fallen to 1.68 and my bass is now costing me another £100. Thanks HSBC.
That's brilliant, that is.

Homebase, Woolies, B&Q etc all do it. But that Flightcase Warehouse roll is the best I've seen, brilliant!

Low B - fine at reasonable volumes but it will fart out a bit at higher levels. Single strap is OK, but I tend to pick it up in a big hug-like grip and carry like that. The castors make it a helluva lot easier to cart around! Dimensions are 63cm tall (excluding castors and handle), 54cm wide and 34cm deep
Are you going to the BassDay in Manchester? Im still tempted, I want either a small cab or lightish combo.. I know this is probably damn heavy, I need to find something around the house that weighs 42Kg?? I think it's a bit unrealistic though.. but im tempted. Let me know if you might be at the BassDay though..
Probably am going to BassDay but I'll be training it, not driving... (Tho if you really want it I will figure a way of getting it on the train with me!) Think your 4x10 cab is about 42kg as well if that helps?

Welcome back, this place wasn't the same without you!

Slightly different feedback this time, Mike depped for me on a freebie gig last week and everyone in my band has raved about how good he is, how nice he is and generally what a top bloke he is. I'd add to that by saying Mike has been brilliant with a potential lemon of a gig (still not had any feedback about the gig itself, just about Mike's playing and the LEDs on his bass ) so big thanks and big praise. Hope the gig wasn't terrible for you Mike and thanks again

Trace Elliot BLX Amp for Sale - price reduced
Merton replied to herbert newbert's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I think you might find that a BLX-80 is an 80w conbo, and the BLX-130 is a 130w combo. But 160w?
Wot 'e said. It'll be 80W RMS, 160W peak. But the peak power rating is a load of old tosh, so use the 80W power rating to sell! Good luck, I like these combos muchly and one day I will own one, just can't afford to buy anything right now -
Anyhoo, we'll know for sure when the frets are in and the strings go on (some time in 2012) EDIT: heres a shot from the back - before any body carving
Is it a race between you and the Olympic stadium? I do like the look of the neck join
Oh come on... I'm sure they didn't sound THAT bad.
I think that any bad sound was my playing To be fair, that pic was taken whilst Alex was playing my Retroactive thru my V-Type "head" into the Big One. It was a huuuge sound and unsurprisingly my amp ran out of juice waaay before the Big One even broke a sweat.

I don't have a back up. I used to have a 5 string Groove which was a "2nd" bass but that's just been sold to silverfoxnik, now I literally have my Retroactive, a Groove 4 string fretless and a cheap J copy which was my first bass. Got 2 5-strings in planning tho - the singlecut multiscale one in build diaries (linky in my sig) and when I can afford it, another Status

I like that! Always been a fan of the Rapture, and this certainly doesn't disappoint!
-
Of the Warwicks I've played (only very few) the onyl one I liked was Monz's 5 string Corvette which I got my grubby mits on atthe bash. Genuinely liked that a lot, never been a fan of any others, mainly don't like their necks.

And don't listen to some ass called Merton! Hello! Will drop a copy of the album round with some beer when I'm back from Rhodes
