1. overwater#1 (or Matt as he's more commonly known to his family) has been a pleasure to deal with. Top bloke, dead easy transaction and highly recommended. Cheers Matt, hope you enjoy the combo
  2.
Worst was when my gear was 'borrowed' at one shared billing at the Clapham Grand and I went absolutely mental at the promoter after I came down from the dressing room. I was watching the twat playing through it redlining the power amp section. Luckily for them both there was no permanent damage.
Good ol' Feedme Music. i told them once under no circumstances whatsoever was my stuff to be used by anyone else, only to experience a very similar thing - bass player with huuuuge distortions practically f**king up the tweeter right in front of my eyes. "er, what?" "Oh yeah, he just sort of plugged in". Well he f**king shouldn't have done. So I told him to sod off.
  3.
Actually it said the person that put the quiz together is an idiot - not in so many words, but the clues were there.
God yeah. Smelling piskates and grammatical bollocks, not to mention dubious maths: You Scored as Victor Wooten Victor Wooten 58% Jaco Pastorius 42% Micheal "Flea" Balzary 25% Pete Wentz 25% John Myung 17%

    Colours!

    Black or natural please
  5. Can't make this Friday but are you up Redhill way anytime soon?
  6. When I had a Trace 12-band head (admittedly a 1999 model) I could push the input gain all the way up and not overdrive the preamp, this is with 18V active basses. So I think you'll find it may just have a massive amount of headroom! The preshape button isn't an EQ defeat, it sets an additional "preshape" curve to the EQ sliders. But you've figured that out already...
  7.
SSSSSSSSSSSSOLD!!! Can't wait..!! More Tracey Stuff!! Cheers Merton.... This guy has been an absolute pleasure to deal with, as i've asked a million and one questions about the amp, and he's always replied promptly with detail, and has been just a top guy throughout! Thankyou very much for the help mate, i'l be filling in you're feedback thread too!! Matt
Cheers Matt - just got your email re. cheque too so thanks for that too! Matt has also been a pleasure to do biz with, I think he was worried he was pissing me off with questions but I really do think when spending out on an amp you have the right to ask what you want! Top fella
  8.
+1 for let your ears decide, they are more reliable than other people's opinions
I like that, good wordsmithing!
  9.
Another gig at the Priory
Bugger, this time I really DO have a band practice, would love to be able to come and stay for the whole set
  10. Trace Elliots of the new millenium are designed by Paul Stevens, the guy who designed the legendary Trace V8. The circuit boards are made in Essex, I guess the cabinets are too, though they may be manufactured at the peavey/Trace HQ in Corby, Northants. I've spent several hours on the phone talking to the MD of the company who does the PCBs for Trace and I can guarantee that the build quality will be second to none. Yes they had a few early production glitches but they're definitely sorted now. As Buzz said, the stigma is really attached to the Gibson era stuff (1997-2002ish) where they let buyers purchase cheaper, inferior components which led to poor reliability.
  11. Bargainous for my favourite preamp!
  12.
P.P.S. And then later someone who's just discovered a 21" speaker cab which goes to 20Hz...
I have a friend who says his cousin's girlfriend's dad has one in his garage, so it must be true. Sorry, couldn't resist.
  13.
What i meant was to NOT play the guitar riff all the way through.
Aye, that I know, I just can't remember if what I play is as recorded or some other nonsense my brain made my fingers do!! Haha I dind't know Extreme did a cover, I thought Thunder did? Or someone like that...?
  14. As recorded. I think. Can't remember
  15.
I think the fundamental tone of graphite has always left a little something to be desired to my ears - yes, it gives a nice high mid edge, but I've always found the bottom lacking the definiton of a wood neck. I found this on both my old Status S2 Classic and my current graphite necked P bass - my old wood necked Status S1 though didn't suffer from this.
I have to say the fundamental tone of my Retroactive is perfect - for me. I think it's got the most bottom-end clarity and guts that any of my basses have ever had, except poss my Groove fretless which is just monstrously huge!
  16. Oh, and a two 2x10 cabs stacked vertically is a good call, but no idea on makes for you.
  17. I'm sure a friendly mod will move it
  18. My thoughts - wrong forum? Hehe. Pedantic git, I am.
  19.
Sorry to be a pedant but.... In your sig it says you've got a 1x15 300w for sale for £250 but this ad says it's a 1x12 150w for £300. Or is it a completely different amp?
The 1x15 is a cab, in a different thread
  20.
why mosfet, mosfet stuff is the poor mans valve.
Coz I like the sound of my Trace MOSFET power amp, that's why
  21. Never realised they did a 150W version! The speaker is a 10". And Kev, no, not yet... sorry...
  22.
Hey! I thought you had left the room!
I have... now. Honest.
  23.
The weight would be the limiting factor here for me.
I'll be going from a 42kg combo so it'll see m non-existent in comparison!! Haha. Ah well, let's see if they ever release them and if they're any good first...
  24.
Anyone notice that according to Ashdown its only 66mm wide? Thats amazing. I think maybe they got Height and width mixed up. Good ol Ashdown. Seems heavier the LMII as well. Here we go ;-)
Yeah, they've definitely screwed up the dimensions. Also notice it won't be smaller than your LMII - it's a foot deep!
  25.
Does anyone have an idea how much the LH500 gives into 8 ohms?
Somewhere between 250W and 300W at a guess
