+1 for the moulded ones, like Alex the best "music gear" I have spent money on. Going to swap the 15s for 25s which my guitarist has - he didn't like the 25s but I am beginning to think I need them! -
Final installment time. I've put on a few labels (rating plate, output/load info plus the standard 'arse covering' one about not using it in the bath etc.) and it's all ready to go. Final pic before boxing it up: Nice snug fit in its shipping box, on the way to its new owner So, any requests for the next project? Andy
Utterly brilliant. How much?
Depends whats on them when they're played.
Back on topic. I've often thought of doing something similar (clean and dirty rigs) but have never actually had the chance to do it satisfactorily in a live situation.
Either way, i bet it'll sound ace as tits.
What do tits sound like? At the moment, mostly "Ow! Get off!"
I'm not sure about that. However my amp does say 150 watts (300 watt RMS). That might be what could cause some confusion?
Are you sure it doesn't say 150W RMS (300W peak)? Seems more likely knowing Trace and their numbering systems.

Huzzah, nice and easy. I suspect not many other boards will be quite so easy to do tho! Maybe the older (80s) Trace stuff?

Trace Elliot V-Type combo and extension cab £500
Merton replied to bassbloke's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I once enquired about having castors fitted to my old one (since sold it to a mate) but Trace advised against it, claiming the vibration in transit could damage the valve stage. To be honest, given the weight, I think I'd have taken the chance. They are indeed very good combos; extremely punchy.
Interesting.... Neither of my V-Types have suffered. Yet.
No interest, which is a shame. He's put it back in storage for the time being and will try again when the 2nd hand market improves.
Shame indeed. -

Awesome! Here's my V-Type lot. (sold the 1x15 last month, yet to build its replacement which will be almost the same size as the 4x8 cab...)

Very sad news indeed. My Groove 5 came from him, a top bloke. Please pass on my condolences too
Now, show us your neck!
Will this do sir? -
Merton does all this mean theres going to be a V-Type Cab knocking about shortly... Frick.
(EDIT - Probably) yes. Sorry! But at last night's gig the 8x8 rig sounded sooooooooooooo good. Aargh, I must sell. I must. Probably. First call to ste on the 4x8 cab then?
LOL! No one in particular, in fact, mainly me! I can't get along with the playing angle of the Streamline either, beacuse I'm too fat! Rich.
Aim it at MK and you may be onto something... And, finally, ladies and gents, some Retroactive porn for your eyes:
What is the latest gossip with the mk2 kingbass Merton. They must be letting something out now the pictures are in the public domain.
They wanted to do a big launch after MK played it at that festival in Europe, but he won't give it back to let them take proper pics!! Apparently, as he's (approaching?) 50, Mark decided he wanted a slightly larger bodied bass, plus Rob was never happy with the balance of the headed version of the Kingbass v1. That and the fact they felt they'd taken the mk1 Kingbass as far as it could go with the standard model, Black Beauty, Princess, Retroglide etc... So that brought about the redesign to what is the Kingbass mk2... Hope that wasn't classified info
But if you ever sell your Retroactive, I'm afraid Nick & I will have to come round and kill you!
That is going NOWHERE
A Streamline? Really - have you lost it? Don't you mean a Stealth?
I'd love a Stealth too, later on In fact, I have been categorically told by the guitarist in one of my bands that I will be sacked if I ever appear at a gig with a Streamline. Bring it on!!
I'm afraid that all your gonna get Mick is the standard response ..."go and try as many basses as possible until you find the right one for you".
Yeah, sorry! That and/or everyone recommending what they own. I, for instance, would heartily recommend a Status
Yeh I know what you mean. Electro has to wait as there is an S2 in production for me.
Yeah, I was talking about you (and the S2!) to Dawn earlier Only briefly mind, I was far more interested in the goss on the Kingbass v2 and the Streamline 5er

PPA1200 is a power amp model that Trace made in the early 1990s - 2x 600W power amps. That's where I got my suspicion that your amp would be the same power stages
-
Is this the amp? F**kadoodle-do - look at the size of it.... I think I'm heading off to the porn section to start a thread on Trace Elliot. Anyone coming (so to speak...) ?
I'll come over with my TE porn, yes. Sadly, tho, that ain't the head, that's from ~1999 and it's the AH1000-12 rather than an AH1200SM. But I reckon it would be a similar size!

Huzzah! OBBM is the dude
