  1. Years and years ago I used one of these through two Barefaced Super Conpacts because we thought it would be fun. Two guitarists using a 2x12 and a 4x12, and this kept up. It was gnarly as f*^% and didn’t really have much bottom end but it was pretty cool!
  2. Argh! I would SO buy this but it is the wrong time by about 6 months 😭
  3. Correct. Both Trace amps use Peavey designs, the TE1200 has a modified power section from one of the Peavey IPR series amps. I read somewhere recently that the Orange Terror is a home-grown power section too but can’t remember where!
  4. Yup, and their website does not offer filtering by impedance so a phone call made sense IMO. If one of my team told a customer to look at the website when they phoned for advice I’d be raging. Best answer from BD would have been “Leave that with me, can I call/email you back?”
  5. That being said, some CTM30s seem to exist without a Gain control so who the hell knows 😂
  6. A question for all you WB-100 users who use FX as well - how well do the two pair? Reason I ask, I think my Trace TE1200 is a SUPERB amp for effects as it seems to bring out the best in them. The WB-100 on the other hand just seems to make everything feel quite “swampy”. Filters don’t sweep, choruses sound a bit mooshy…. I even thought the (passive) tone control on one of my basses was bust as I couldn’t hear any difference between off, on or the sweep between. Then I realised it’s the same on all my basses…. Weird. It’s a bloody superb amp in and of itself and I LOVE the tone I get from it without anything but a touch of compression, but with a couple of bands I need those filters, synths, choruses and they just get lost… Any clues? (BTW I run the FX between bass and amp, not in the FX loop, and the EQ is pretty much flat with the very slightest of notches on the contour control. Maybe I need to try the FX loop?)
  7. Yep that makes sense in line with the press release. Essentially they are Algam UK now and the Ashdown part is a small cog in a bigger machine now.
  8. Exterior design-wise obviously a different vibe, as far as I know the only electronic difference is that the CTM30 has a gain control as well
  9. Get a box custom made for the custom made box? 😄
  10. No but it looks very cool!
  11. These Standard series basses are going to cause my bank balance even more trouble than ACGs already do I think 😄
  12. As said on the Mesa ad - sorry to hear this. But I’m doing my best to persuade my uncle to buy at least a cab, if not the Eich amp as well. And I’m trying to persuade someone else to buy the Mesa so I can borrow it 😄
  13. Superb cab, very fair price! Also fired this at my uncle, he could use this and a more powerful amp for the same result as the Vanderkley 2x12.
  14. Have sent this to my uncle who lives up in Holt - he’s after a bigger cab set up and this ticks the box beautifully
  15. Oh no! Sorry to hear that Martin. Always fancied one of these but now I have the Handbox I can’t see I’d ever use this a GLWTS.
  16. Very cool! Maybe this is a rabbit hole I need to explore too…
  17. This is pretty much where I’m at with everything except bloody fuzz 😅
  18. I’ve done it back when I had a Two10 and One10. It works great and definitely added something. Whether it’s enough of a difference I can’t really say as it’s been two years now and I can barely remember what I did yesterday 😄 I guess it depends how loud the band is; for me I actually ended up getting a second Two10 because the band was loud and I never had PA support.
  19. I guess this all ties in with their recent merge with / acquisition by the Algam group: https://www.mia.org.uk/2024/08/ashdown-engineering-team-establishes-algam-ashdown-in-the-united-kingdom/ They have an 80% stake in the company now, will be interesting to see where it goes.
  20. I always struggle with fuzz sounds. Whatever I do they seem to become overwhelming and crush everything at 20 paces, rather than being a nice fuzzy warmth often found on the record. I expect it’s got a lot to do with compression in reality, and compression I am not good at, at all 😅
  21. That right hand one would be remarkably close to one I’d have serious trouble avoiding 😂
  22. ….Of course if the “right” Lionel appeared second hand I’d be in a lot of trouble
  23. I am both gutted and relieved that not many are available. Gutted because I really NEED one in my silly collection (😆) and relieved because, having just bought a Handbox and commissioned a new ACG, I can neither afford or really justify it 🤣
  24. ACG TKO Classic https://acguitars.co.uk/project/0404tkoclassic4-30-5/ EDIT - it is the Dog’s Danglies, especially for rock music. Passive but has a very Spector-esque growl to it, especially with the pickups in series
