  1. I may well regret it but my logic currently works that a Two10 really isn’t that much bigger… we’ll see 😅
  2. You all know what these are, and if you don’t, buy this one to find out 😀 Selling because I have 2x Two10S cabs and frankly they’re not big enough to warrant a “small” cab for a few gigs and rehearsals. I think this has a 2018 date-of-birth and as such it has a bit of tolex peel appearing on the back. Supplied with official Barefaced cover and price includes UK mainland delivery.
  3. Didn’t think I’d move this on to be honest, I’ve had it a year and it’s easily one of the best bass amps I’ve ever owned - impeccable build quality, well thought out preamp, oodles of power, quiet as a mouse when it comes to the fan… but… there’s always a but… Before buying this last year I’d had my heart set on the new Trace Elliot TE-1200 and thanks to @Russ I now have one. To be honest I find myself preferring the core tone of the Trace - this week I’ve done loud A/Bing with my rock band and it got a lot of attention at the recent SE Bass Bash. The Glock is absolutely superb, don’t get me wrong; the preamp is clean, crisp and hifi and the drive function is superb (so much so I preferred it over using the Ashdown OriginAL preamp), I just think I prefer the Trace. This is the Rolls Royce of bass amps and deserves to be played, not kept in its gigbag and used because I feel guilty occasionally. It comes with its carry bag, mains lead and manual. And a Glockenklang sticker, very important that. 1000W at 4 ohms/500W at 8 Or, with the flick of two tiny dip switches on the underside, 900W at 2.67ohms. Whilst this is class D and SMPS it really is one of the most full fat head you could imagine, all those “class D is weedy” threads are nonsense when you hear this. Powerful, clean, crisp, highly dynamic. Marvellous. Price is for collection from Surrey, UK mainland shipping is £20. Thanks to Brexxxxit I can’t ship further afield.
  4. You’re very welcome to take mine for a spin if you want, I’m only down the road near Gatwick
  5. Reduced to £1475 collected / £1500 delivered to mainland UK.
  6. Cracking day - thank you @Hamster and @ceteraand all others involved in making it happen. @Kingbassist’s talk was superb. A lovely guy, fantastic player and some really useful tips and interesting stories. Looking forward to his bass course as it sounds like a really interesting approach which I think will work really well for me. My friend’s son absolutely loved it, though I think I’ve now caused an issue with his desire for expensive toys 😂 Here are some pics, apologies I’m not tagging everyone as I’ve already forgotten everyone’s names 🤦🏼‍♂️
  7. On me way - see you all in about 45 mins 🤘🏻
  8. I’m just a bit too keen to have an extra half an hour in bed asleep 🤣
  9. Basses and amps packed 👍🏻 Remembered to pack my Barefaced Machinist too 😎 I’m sure there’ll still be something I forget😄
  10. A good shout indeed. I certainly would. Carry it to my car and drive off 😂 (Or I’d be nice, @NancyJohnson is bigger than me)
  11. Their specs have had some dubious numbers over the years! Will be interesting to hear it, @eude had its successor for a while and that was pretty good indeed.
  12. One of the ones @eude has is a 5er 🤓 I’ll also have my (not for sale, sorry) Conway Instruments Taranis short scale fretless 5er if you wish to fondle that 😊
  13. I’ll have my 4 string fretless Mule with magnetic pickup too - so three ACG Mules in all. All three are available too - @eude’s 2 from Alan himself and mine from, er, me 😆
  14. Status do stainless half rounds, I really like them. Despite their custom bass shop being closed I believe the strings are still available.

  16. Welcome back sir! I was wondering where you’d gone. Hope all is well
  17. Great post @Phil Starr - clear and succinct 👍🏻
  18. I did an A/B with my Glockenklang Blue Rock at last night’s band practice. They’re obviously amps with different design goals but they have very similar formats and power outputs so I thought it would be fun. The Glock is clearly much more transparent and “flat” with everything at noon, the Trace has a baked in EQ curve which is very musical and pleasing to my ears. Once I’d tweaked EQs (mainly on the Glock) there wasn’t a huge amount of difference at all. The Glock had a crisper top end but that was about it. In a rock band setting I think the Trace wins out. It was a fun experiment
  19. I’ll be bringing the new Trace Elliot TE-1200 head as well as whatever else I said previously - if anyone has an old Trace 7- or 12-band head we could A/B them for a bit of wonderful bass geekery 🤓
  20. Of course you can (I’ve invited the son of an old school friend, for example, who’s not on Basschat!)
  21. Loving it so far A few comments here:
  22. Finally got the chance to use the TE-1200 on a loud pub gig last night; no bass in the PA so onstage rig was doing it all. Cabs were a pair of Barefaced Two10s. To say the rig delivered would be an understatement. Whatever I fed it from my HX Effects - clean, slightly driven, all out fuzz, octaves, choruses - the rig was always there, full blooded and present. I was very happy with the way it handled everything, it absolutely nailed the tone I have in my head without any additional EQ after whatever the HX was doing (which was sometimes absolutely nothing!). Wonderful
  23. Crappy pic but the first proper (as in loud, no PA support!) outing for my TE-1200. It delivered, and then some. Cracking amp, hopefully it wasn’t a one-off haha
