  1. Can’t afford it after being a bit rash and buying a lovely ACG a couple of weeks ago. Nor can I really justify it… It’s a steal for whoever gets it PM me deets of the Kent trip, will see if I can come along and support you guys!
  2. Oh man. I’d love a second one.
  3. Haha, I had a very similar thought. My original request to Martin was a simple small footprint 100W valve head with 3 band EQ. That was it. Was content to let the finer aspects be left to the man designing and building. I do like some of the ideas floating around here and very much appreciate Martin’s input and ideas here. I’m confident we’ll end up with a pretty fine little amp but there will be a fair few people saying either “I wanted this” or “I wouldn’t have done that”. We can’t please everyone.
  4. On the basis of them being potentially unreliable and difficult to get hold of, I’d say not..
  5. Used mine with my Barefaced One10 last night for a rehearsal. “Bloody marvellous” springs to mind.
  6. All that being said, if we’re trying to keep the footprint small, having so many speaker outs doesn’t quite sit on the same brief for me 😅
  7. Valve amps don’t do min load like solid state amps, they prefer lower rather than higher impedances. I’d avoid the word “min” basically. 🤓 For me the 4 ohm tap would have two parallel jack/speakons, with a box saying “1x4 ohm or 2x 8 ohm” and the 8 ohm likewise but “1x 8 ohm or 2x 16 ohm” 🙂
  8. I can’t see there being an issue with providing two, but it needs to be idiot proof ideally. And that’s where the idea may fall down for the general population
  9. Thanks Martin! Bang on for me 😎 Personally I don’t use s/r or pre-amp outs but I may be in the minority 🙂
  10. Yep, this ☝🏻 Also consider two 8 ohm cabs actually present a 4 ohm load (when conventionally wired in parallel) so you need to use the 4 ohm tap from the output transformer, not two 8 ohm taps…
  11. Cool. Fender tonestack is out then. Can totally understand why
  12. Not in my original idea no but I think this has some way to run before we nail a firm spec for all of it!
  13. Hadn’t specified that far yet but I am partial to that particular set up
  14. Definitely dials - my original suggestion to Martin was a simple 3 band BMT EQ
  15. I agree @stewblack - I happily gigged a 100W Ashdown valve head many times, hence that’s where I’ve aimed my desires on this one. For me it hits the right balance between power, size, ability to drive the power amp etc.
  16. Thanks for joining the discussion here too! I am very excited by this “little” project 😃
  17. Woof! That is gorgeous
  18. It gets very, very gnarly. Sounds ok in the mix but loses the bottom end a bit, and sounds pretty angry on its own… hence wanting a 100W option!
  19. It most definitely is. The neighbours may not agree..
  20. That’s exactly what I’ve based this whole 40cm max width on
  21. @dmccombe7 not sure if you’re aware of the “new” Ashdown Little Bastard - this will be closer to what Martin is aiming for however he wants to make it his own: https://ashdownmusic.com/products/lb-30-2-n We’re also aiming for 40cm wide as that’s what the original Little Bastard was, and it is the max I want to go for to suit my Barefaced cabs
  22. Yeah I was thinking of you when he said he'd get local bassists to try the prototype! That would be ace if you could
