  1. Amps are, for once, something I’m quite comfortable with, the Glock has just blown everything else out of the water to the point I don’t feel any GAS for anything else*. But I do feel the need for a tiny back up head - more for the sale of buying something than any real need or fear of the Glock giving up. That’s where I’d put my money on my failure to succeed with this 😃 *unless a blackface Mesa Walkabout head appears. Irrational want rather than need. Is the MK500 not doing it for you?
  2. Winning. I’m still out though. I can feel it in my bones 😅
  3. Likewise mate haha 😆 I’m already out though, I commissioned a new Zoot bass this year which will be making its way home in 2022. Though to be fair it was paid for this year too, so does that really count for my 2021 intake?
  4. I actually quite liked Parachutes at first. But then, in my second year at university, the guy in the room above me in our shared house played it non-stop EVERY DAMN DAY for about 9 months. Christ that was hard work. Their more recent output hasn't even registered on my radar.
  5. The ABM produces 600W into 4 ohms. 8 ohms doesn’t come into the equation if you’re pairing the amp with a 4 ohm cab
  6. Oooft. Me likey. I need to pay more attention to his creations!

Pretty sure you mean GR..: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/GR_Bass_Cabinets.html
  8. Don’t tell Jen you have a secret admirer 😅
  9. A normal year in the Travis household then
  10. Deep breath. Here we go: IN ACG TKO Classic Glockenklang Blue Rock Barefaced Two10S Barefaced Machinist (but I won this, I didn’t buy it!) MXR Bass Octave (which will be sold again soon, when I can get my derrière in gear) Mooer Bass Sweeper Various LaBella and Status strings OUT Ashdown RM210T Ashdown RM800 Teetering on the verge of being out: Barefaced One10 (I have two, plus the Two10, so only one is being kept and @eudeis taking the other) Ashdown ABM (since getting the Glock this just never gets a look in) MXR Bass Octave (as mentioned above. Bought because I thought I needed it, turns out I didn’t)
  11. I play in a loud rock band with two guitarists and a heavy hitting drummer. My Barefaced Two10 destroyed them last week at rehearsal because I got a bit over-zealous with the volume control on my Glockenklang Blue Rock 😅
  12. Yup I’m all about smaller bodied basses too. It’s the future (for me…). Along with 30-32” scale.
  13. I just slipped a disc looking at that
  14. I was reasonably active on there til around 2015/16 I think. There was a small selection of about 15-20 regular members who were very knowledgeable, funny and interesting to talk to but there were a lot of threads which got a little derogatory about BC... Still talk to a few of the guys, and indeed it was Finnbass which started my love affair with both ACG and Zoot. Whilst the demise is a shame it's not really been doing anything for a number of years.
  15. I keep coming back to this one to ogle. Plus the 32” Jake L 5P on the Public Peace shop. That is sexy AF. 32” is my favourite scale length. And the longest I have in my arsenal now
  16. Agree. For old school class AB amps this really is one of the best IMO

    610 Cabs

Yup spot on maths I run the Glock in 2.67 ohm mode so the Two10 is 4 ohms

    3x10 FTW 🤓
  19. It’s a complicated thing to explain properly - in a nutshell it’s a rock band for kids and they have set themselves up to do duo (keys or guitar and vocals) or full band, so the four-piece without bass has just become a natural progression from there. And yes it does make me feel a little like a spare part!
  20. Believe me, I’ve had a lot of conflicting thoughts over the years and my wife is probably sick of me questioning the whole thing with her! The dynamic of the band is kinda complicated so I’ve gone down the route of taking what I’m given but I’m not sure it’s going to have much of a medium/long term future for me.
  21. I know the feeling. In one of the bands I'm in, if the budget from any potential booking is too tight, they immediately offer themselves out as a four piece without me, with the keys player covering the bass. Ultimately I have just decided f**k it, I'll turn up when I'm told and not worry about anything else. Kinda whizzed me off a couple of weeks ago when the guitarist refused to play because of water on the stage though, as I guarantee he'll have been paid the same as I was even though he just turned up and moaned, whilst I got on with it.
