  1. I’d be tempted to look at this: https://www.thomann.de/gb/joyo_badass.htm Hell, I’m tempting myself with it now and wasn’t even looking 🤦🏼‍♂️
  2. If you're selling as a "needs work" then the price obviously has to reflect that. Personally I'd want to get the electronics fixed before selling, but leave the rest as it's mojo. People pay a lot for new basses with fake mojo so having real mojo isn't a bad thing to the right buyer
  3. Apologies if this has already been asked - skim read but couldn’t see an answer. on the Public Peace shop the prices include 19% tax; therefore UK landed price will be remarkably similar I presume. What about customs duty etc - how much have people paid on top of that price since B-xit?
  4. Well the correct number of basses is n+1, where n is the current number owned. Therefore it stands to reason that n+2 is too many. 🤓
  5. Oddly enough I was pondering a topic along these lines… I have two utterly wonderful ACG five string (fretted) basses but only really need one (fretted) fiver in my life so was concocting a spec to consolidate into one. But there’s a gorgeous Jake L5 available at the moment which is whispering sweet nothings to me 😳 @JPJ do let us know if you go for it
  6. Oooh. Always fancied one of these. Near Leeds in a fortnight, if this is still here I’ll be in touch!
  7. Good taste! If this wasn't active I'd have probably found a credit card to abuse by now...
  8. If it’s a European spec head then the only difference is the plug on the end of the lead, so a new IEC Mains lead (not a kettle lead, they’re only for kettles ) with a UK plug and suitable fuse will be fine. EU mains electricity is 50Hz, 220-240V just like the UK
  9. Nothing forthcoming. I suspect it's caught up in the many component shortages etc and probably now slated for a January NAMM release?
  10. Wonderful repair of a calamitous botch job!
  11. I have wavered over buying a shorty Jazz for a while; if they’d done a shorty P I probably would have given in ages ago.
  12. Tonight’s office, a slightly cold marquee in Reigate:
  13. Hence my various caveats and 😜 I was being daft 😘
  14. Agree, and I know that's possibly counter-intuitive to my own reply here. As I said though, I'd be happy with any of my basses in any of the situations it's just that I tend to favour one over another. Frankly, I probably only need the Zoot or Finn 4 and it (whichever "it" be) would do for everything, but where's the fun in only having one toy if you like collecting pretty things
  15. I have too much equipment all being told, and some is designed for specific things but I would be happy using all of it in all the various situations I have. That being said, this is what it seems to naturally fall into: Function band: ACG Finn 5, Zoot Funkmeister Rock covers band: ACG TKO, ACG Skelf, Zoot Original Pop/punk band: Zoot, ACG TKO Blues band: Zoot, ACG Finn 4, Conway Taranis fretless Kids rock band: ACG Finn 4, Zoot Bass rig: Glock Blue Rock and a variety of Barefaced X10 cabs, used for all bands. Pedals: one board to rule them all 🤓
  16. Just emailed Trace/Peavey for an update...
  17. I have one now too. It’s great because it’s so small I’ve managed to add another pedal onto my board 🤓 More importantly the display is a nice big bold bright clear thing which my crappy eyesight can’t miss 😄
  18. I have to say I pay very little attention to the VU, it’s not actually as useful as a clip LED etc, it’s more just a nice thing to look at
  19. Ditto. Always thought I wanted a clean tone. Spent the last 3 years wanting anything but, though now I'm in a function band again I need to reign it in occasionally haha. A little drive goes a long way IMO, and the Ashdown OriginAL pedal, if handled delicately, can give you that.
  20. I wonder if Brex** has anything to do with stock delays on the continent. Or if they’re just caught up in the wider supply chain delays (which let’s face it, is more likely). I’m quite tempted by the Digbeth pre pedal and also contemplating the DB200 head as a “little gig” option. It’s down to £299 at Andertons now, and in stock….
  21. Absolutely agree about The Art Of Losing, superb bit of work. Also enjoying Weight Of The World by Florence Black and Tell Your Girls It’s Alright by The Dead Deads 🙂 edit - ooh and the Wildhearts album!
  22. Bloody hell, so sorry to read this. Condolences to all family and friends. What a shitty world we live in.
  23. Yep nothing extreme at all! Give Ashdown a buzz or drop them an email
