Absolutely agree in terms of the massive supermarkets, oil companies etc. The petrol prices beggar belief for example.
I suspect Barefaced just wouldn’t have been able to survive without these price increases though; more a labour of love than a way to a quick million.
They weren’t the first and won’t be the last to do this. It’s sadly the current state of the world. They are still (imo) fantastic cabs and worth the money if you can afford them. If you can’t afford them or don’t think they’re fantastic, the price rise doesn’t matter
Bought an HX Effects from Christian, lovely guy who drove to meet me halfway and insisted on me checking the box had everything in it (clue: it did!).
Great guy to deal with
Yesterday’s rig. Bloody marvellous. I’ve been having valve amp pangs recently but using this over the course of 4 sets yesterday reminded me that I have much, much better gear than my talent deserves, and really don’t need glowing glass tubes.
Nope, that is something else I think.
I’m not sure I’m supposed to know so Just don’t Mention I said anything…. Maybe pretend I was in a Theatre of Dreams making this up 🤓
Also very interested to see how this develops
@eude and I (and many others to be fair) own ACGs with 32" or shorter scale lengths with excellent bottom B strings :0 For me Newtone and LaBella seem to have the medium and short scale string science sorted; that along with the construction of the neck and neck/body join are the key things I think.
I have an Elf as a back up and couldn’t be happier with it. The core tone is wonderful and it can get loud. A few years ago I was depping for a loud rock band in a pub in London and due to the slightly annoying load in decided to leave my ABM in the car and use the Elf and a single Super Compact. I didn’t have PA support but the amp coped and sounded wonderful. There wasn’t really any headroom to go louder if we had gotten to that stage but it filled the pub room with the single Barefaced cab mighty impressively.
Just a quick shout out to @joetruscott- he’s a lovely guy, a brilliant bassist (especially when dressed as a panda) and looks after his (awesome) collection. Buy with confidence. Surprised this is still here tbh!
Only one band rehearses regularly. The other two rehearse if needed but we have been together for almost ten years and don’t feel the need to see each other every week.
The band that rehearses each week hasn’t yet gigged, but it’s new and we’re sorting out the set ready to emerge into dive bars all over the south east later this year 🤓
Yep written by Mike McCready as a bit of a Hendrix freak out.
Personally I find it’s one of their weaker songs from their early days - Eddie’s lyrics and warbling just feels a bit 6th Form College singer to me.
There we go, that can be my unpopular opinion
I really must get one* next time the BC classifieds tempt me, that is exactly the sort of review I didn’t need to read @Woody1957😅
*probably the R400 but the WB100 intrigues me just as much
