  1. Second cab, whilst avoiding the bass boost as it gobbles up power... mids are your friend for being heard.
  2. Yep, my experience exactly with this amp. Lovely thing (which I may have already said 😅)
  3. Gutted to read this, he has been a stalwart on here and been a pleasure to talk to in the past RIP Martin
  4. Mid life crisis in reverse. Have serious GAS for 2-ohm capable amp and more One10s, just because... But my middle-aged brain is telling me to be sensible, my current rig is more than enough and sounds great, so my credit cards is breathing a little easier...

    What's wrong with me?

@ead I am contemplating flogging a One10 and getting a Two10, this making my Three10 rig a little easier to carry. Haven’t decided yet as it depends on various other (non-bass-related) financial things sorting themselves over the coming weeks/months. If I do go down that route rather than a third One10, I’ll let you know :)

Well ping me up if you go for the 3rd One10. I am contemplating replacing one of mine with a 12”. The one I would sell has only had studio use. I ordered it just before lockdown: typical!

      @Obrienp nice one, cheers!

  5. I could learn a thing or five from your cabling underneath the board. Excellent work maestro!
  6. Just to add - there’s really not a huge volume difference between them, it’s more in the power delivery of the 800, it doesn’t run out of steam and this doesn’t suffer from that “class D running out of puff” compression a lot of these tend to suffer from. At least, that has been my experience
  7. Having owned both, I would recommend going for the 800. Its power delivery is effortless and it copes easily with loud rock band gigs without PA support. The 500 is great and plenty loud enough for most situations but I did have to swap it out for my ABM on a gig with the same loud rock band, it couldn’t quite keep up without PA support. There’s very little in it at lower volumes though, they both sound great.
  8. The amp can output 500W so each speaker will get 250W to play with. They can’t output more power than they are fed. Don’t think if it as “limited” though; the speaker power rating is the thermal power and has very little real world bearing on volume or mechanical limits. For that you want to know their sensitivity and excursion really. And very few companies give you both of those bits of information.
  9. Blimey the Pro Neo 112 is £226 😱🤯
  10. Get some Status flats or halfs for it. Either you’ll love them and find some nice cost effective strings, or you’ll think “hmm, nearly there” and then know you can go for the Chromes/LaBellas etc
  11. Great amp, insane price!

I’d agree with @Dood’s (near) closing statement about it working well with the One10s; it really does sound bloody marvellous paired with them. I am using it for a variety of band situations now, I’m not sure how I would have achieved those things without this on the board
  13. My room (plus my son’s I guess… that’s his Alesis kit…)
  14. There’s a form you can fill in to prove that you already owned these when they went out to Italy; ie to show that this isn’t their first import and therefore all customs fees are bollocks. I can’t remember the name of it but my company had exactly this situation with a vehicle which got stuck in France; we almost had a £20K vat bill but for this form. I don’t think it’s a quick easy thing to complete (why make life easy when the government can rely on people to give up and just suck up paying the fees?) but it could be worth looking into. You’ll need all the original receipts etc… I’ll check the name of the form and get the details over tomorrow
  15. Great price for a great cab. One of the best cabs you can buy in my (very) humble opinion
  16. Good cabs! Pics as soon as it arrives please, or it doesn't exist
  17. Always the best advice that - if you think it sounds great but want more, add more of the same
  18. I’d put the RM115 with it if it were me. Looking at the specs either 115 or 210 will fit perfectly fine under/over the combo. I’d choose the 115 because avoids any possible phase/comb filtering issues you *may* encounter with different sized speakers. I say “may” because it’s a bit of a crapshoot. Sometimes they work together, sometimes they don’t. I’ve have bad experiences with a 210 and 115 which I didn’t understand until encountering Bassworld (predecessor to Basschat) but now I try to avoid mixing different driver sizes. But then, saying all that, I have an RM210 evo II cab I’m about to sell, so I’m conflicted with my advice 😅
  19. The best way to get more volume is to add speaker area. Impedance is often misunderstood as “I have to get full power from the amp” but a single cab in 4ohm vs identical but 8ohms is not going to be adding as much volume as two identical 8 ohm cabs. I’d almost be inclined to get two 8 ohm cabs and then you know, if you need it, a third identical 8ohm cab gets you even louder. That’s my current plan in fact… a third One10 for when two isn’t enough* *based on recent performance, two is overkill for most of my needs but three just looks bigger and therefore must be better 😄
