  1. Exactly my thoughts. “Farty” is a term I associate with speakers going to their limits.
  2. Not my experience at all. I'd say for rock/indie you won't go far wrong. It depends on your cabs, of course, but I felt the sound was beautifully fat and thick, and at volume whilst it would tip over the edge it was controllable. Perhaps depends how loud your band is too but I was playing with a very hard hitting drummer with my CTM100 and it was lovely and creamy and thick.
  3. Ashdown CTM100 if you can find one. Superb amp

    Eh up

Welcome back! I too remember you
  5. @Al Krow Peavey have said they’ll try to send me some specs later this week, if they’re allowed EDIT: got some very basic info I’m allowed to share 🤘🏻 Weight: 11.5 lbs (5.22 kg) Dimensions (H x W x D): 12.0”W x 12.0”D x 3.62”H (305mm x 305mm x 91.9mm) Protection: Over temperature, Over current, Clip limiting, Short circuit, DC output Power Output (THD+N 1%) Minimum load = 4 ohms Bridged output RMS Power, 4 Ohm load 1100W RMS Power, 8 Ohm load 835W Nominal Input Sensitivity: All EQ controls at 12:00, Compressors off, Shape off Gain at 12:00 = 1.4VRMS Gain Control Max, = 70mV RMS (not sure why some has pasted with yellow highlighting!)
  6. Didn’t actually ask as I figured they’d hold it a closely guarded secret until the launch. I can of course try
  7. Haha! Hopefully November this year according to the guy I asked
  8. Launch is late August/early September so I guess we wait til then…
  9. Looks that way. Official release late Aug/early Sept and available on these shores by November according to Trace (yes, I asked them 🤓)
  10. I did think of you after seeing it! Tbh if it has compression/drive/anything else you may still prefer the LBT for the simplicity you mentioned in your thread
  11. Makes sense, they kept that original relaunched range going way too long when everyone else was going lightweight, then just closed it down completely for a few years. Don’t blame him in the slightest!
  12. When Peavey bought TE they also took on Paul Stevens who was one of the Trace design engineers near the end of the Gibson era, so they did originally have some Trace dna. Don’t think they do any more though haha
  13. Oooh now that would be quite the thing wouldn’t it!
  14. Wow that’s pristine! You have a lot of lovely Ashdown gear
  15. Sold! Where do I buy one? 😆
  16. Fair enough, understand that viewpoint too but I just see it as a way for Peavy to get a bigger slice of the bass amp market with a renowned brand. They make a big deal about it sounding like Trace of old, but people seem to hear with their eyes and the lack of graphic EQ means it can’t possibly do so…
  17. For me, it's the same argument as is Seat really Seat, or is it just VW... Sure, it's not the same company it was but the brand exists still and that is OK by me
  18. A few comments on TB suggest it may be 1200W. Which would be remarkable! new cabs too: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/trace-elliot-elf.1264229/page-132
  19. Being premiered at tonight’s Living Colour show: More detail required!
  20. How heavy is it? Edit - I used a new fangled thing called Google and found the answer myself 🤓 86lbs
  21. I imagine it’s a similar marriage made in heaven to that of Ashdown and Barefaced. Certainly your description there sounds like tonal nirvana 🤘🏻😎
