  1. What about an RM combo? Not the tiniest footprint but will be small, light, loud and sub-£500…: https://www.musik-produktiv.com/gb/ashdown-rootmaster-rm-c210t-500-evoii.html
  2. I reckon that is sound logic. I’m seriously considering their Pure Amp 800, to be run from the preamp on my pedalboard into my BF10s (a third of which would be possible with that amp). They could be the next Basschat fad hahaha 😝
  3. I agree with @Quilly - in fact he has my old one! These really are great, loud, plug-and-play amps and £200 is silly. Hopefully someone will come along soon
  4. I have recently joined a new loud rock covers band and have found that my RM80@ and pair of One10s is more than adequate in rehearsals. I can’t imagine gigs getting much louder tbh as I know the other musicians and the way they work
  5. The GR stuff is really intriguing me and this does nothing to stop that. Great new toy!
  6. Yep, I almost wrote that but didn’t. I would expect the S12 to be more “barky”, especially at volume
  7. Marginally. The S12 has standard Eminence drivers; the Super Twin has bespoke Eminence drivers based on the same original driver but with tweaks to Barefaced’s requirements.
  8. Yep definitely a Super 12

I’m away at the moment but I’ll get some pics when I’m home. I’ve actually found that keeping three basic settings across the three switches works and then it’s the combination of what is on which gives my tonal variation. There’s plenty more on tap but I’m not much of a tweaked either!
  10. I might have one - can check next week when I get home
  11. I’m in 4 bands and none of then have managed a single bloody thing yet. Off to King’s Lynn in a fortnight for a little outing though, then it’s back to rehearsing and no gigs for the foreseeable 😔
  12. Now you just need a big wing logo for the Evo 1 cab
  13. Second cab, whilst avoiding the bass boost as it gobbles up power... mids are your friend for being heard.
  14. Yep, my experience exactly with this amp. Lovely thing (which I may have already said 😅)
  15. Gutted to read this, he has been a stalwart on here and been a pleasure to talk to in the past RIP Martin
  16. Hurrah! Nice one - enjoy
  17. Lies! That only has four strings! 😁
  18. Mid life crisis in reverse. Have serious GAS for 2-ohm capable amp and more One10s, just because... But my middle-aged brain is telling me to be sensible, my current rig is more than enough and sounds great, so my credit cards is breathing a little easier...

    What's wrong with me?

@ead I am contemplating flogging a One10 and getting a Two10, this making my Three10 rig a little easier to carry. Haven’t decided yet as it depends on various other (non-bass-related) financial things sorting themselves over the coming weeks/months. If I do go down that route rather than a third One10, I’ll let you know :)

Well ping me up if you go for the 3rd One10. I am contemplating replacing one of mine with a 12”. The one I would sell has only had studio use. I ordered it just before lockdown: typical!

      @Obrienp nice one, cheers!

  19. I could learn a thing or five from your cabling underneath the board. Excellent work maestro!
  20. Just to add - there’s really not a huge volume difference between them, it’s more in the power delivery of the 800, it doesn’t run out of steam and this doesn’t suffer from that “class D running out of puff” compression a lot of these tend to suffer from. At least, that has been my experience
  21. Having owned both, I would recommend going for the 800. Its power delivery is effortless and it copes easily with loud rock band gigs without PA support. The 500 is great and plenty loud enough for most situations but I did have to swap it out for my ABM on a gig with the same loud rock band, it couldn’t quite keep up without PA support. There’s very little in it at lower volumes though, they both sound great.
  22. Balls too late 😖
  23. The amp can output 500W so each speaker will get 250W to play with. They can’t output more power than they are fed. Don’t think if it as “limited” though; the speaker power rating is the thermal power and has very little real world bearing on volume or mechanical limits. For that you want to know their sensitivity and excursion really. And very few companies give you both of those bits of information.
